Frosty the Snowman

Snowflakes or Snowman is the challenge this week at Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges.  Bugaboo Stamps is our sponsor this week and that means a prize for a lucky someone at the end of the challenge.

I decided to make a wall hanging this week instead of a card.  I was inspired by a gift from a friend and I thought the idea would make a neat Christmas wall hanging.

I made the wall  hanging on a piece of kraft paper and used a snowman digitial image from my collection.  I punched the snowflakes out of craft paper and added some white ink and clear embossing powder. I also added ribbon, wire, eyelets, glitter and buttons to complete the project.

Thank you for stopping by and viewing my project.  Come join us at Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges.  Need some inspiration visit the blogs of the other Christmas Elves.

Have a great day

Black on Gray Collage

Julie at Come and Get It Challenges picked the challenge this week and she chose a Tic Tac Toe Challenge.

The idea of this challenge is to chose a row either horizontally, vertically of diagonally and create a card using the elements from the row.  I chose the diagonal row of paper piercing, free and black and this is my card for the challenge.

I used several vintage stamps by Tim Holtz along with several unmounted stamps from my collection to create the collage.  I liked the black and gray colour pallet so I decided not to add any other colour. I used my paper piercing tool and pierced around the edges of the card and added some black brads to finish the card off.

Hope you enjoyed the card and will join us at Come and Get It Challenges this week.

Look Who is Having A Birthday

I made a card for my grandson, River's 4th Birthday this week and chose to this fireman for his card. I think all little boys love firemen. This digi image is by Mo's Digitial Pencil.   I coloured the image with my Copic Markers and added a sentiment.  I think he will like the card.

Remember to do something creative for yourself this week and have a wonderful day.

It is a Blue Blue Christmas

Hi everyone, I am on holidays (10 weeks in Arizona) getting away from that cold weather.  We bought a bigger trailer this year so I could bring more craft supplies with me.

It was my turn to pick the challenge this week at Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges and my challenge to you is to create a Christmas card with the colours of purple, blue and silver.  The colour scheme I thought worked good for this card I made using the Elvis stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms.

The card was a very simple to make.  I used a die cut for the star,  an embossing folder for the silver strip and a sentiment.  Hope you will join in the challenge.  Just create your card and enter it here.

Time for a Sketch at Come and Get It Challenges

Meighan chose a sketch for this challenge at Come and Get It Challenges this week.  This sketch would suit any themed card.
Fred, She Said Designs is the sponsor of this challenge and we have a prize for the winner.

Here is my interpretation of the sketch.

My friend Yvonne gave me this piece of wood veneer that I used for the background of this card.  I thought my stamp of a wolf's head would make a interesting image for my card.  I added a metal label from my collection of odds and ends and used Walnut Distress Ink to edge the papers.  The wolf rubber stamp is from  Old Island Rubber Stamp Company and the sentiment is by A Muse ArtStamp Company.

I hope you will join us this week at Come and Get It Challenges.  Thank you for stopping by and have a creative day.

Tie a Ribbon Around It

Shell at Come and Get it Challenges this week picked the challenge, tie a ribbon around it. I chose to make a tag this week. I love creating tags for all occasions.

I used glossy card stock for both background papers for my tag and used alcohol inks to added colour.  For the background of the heron I also used salt on the paper after I added the alcohol inks to give the paper a more interesting effect.  For the tag portion I embossed the tag with an embossing fold that appears to give the paper a watery effect.

The heron rubber stamp I used for this project is by GCS Artstamps. I added a sentiment, lace and of course a ribbon to complete the tag.

I hope you will join us this week and show us your ribbon at Come and Get it Challenges.  Have a creative day.

Christmas Themed Shaker Card

Meighan, one of the Holly Christmas Elves chose a shaker card for the first challenge of 2013 at Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges.  It had been awhile since I had made a shaker card but it was fun to make.  I had this cute digi skier image from Paper Shelter that I used for my card.  To represent the snow I used some micro beads with white glitter mixed in to give some sparkle to the snow.

I am looking forward to the upcoming challenges of 2013 and a chance to have my Christmas cards finished early this upcoming year.  If you need some inspiration for your card take a look at the beautiful cards on the rest of the design team.

Colour Challenge

Cindy chose a colour challenge at Come and Get It Challenges this week and the colours are Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Tempting Turquoise.  Don't those colours sound delicious.

Bugaboo Stamps is our sponsor this week and this means a prize for one lucky winner.

Here is my card using this nice Bugaboo stamp called Dandelion Butterflies.

I used a card fold called a twisted circular easel card which you can find the directions on Split Coast Stampers' site. I also used the following products; Diamond Glaze, several different die cuts, embossing folder, Copic Markers, Distress Ink, pearls and bling to create the card.

Come join us at Come and Get It Challenges and create a card with these great colours.
