May the Wings of a Butterfly......

I made this card for an upcoming swap at the Yahoo Group The Rubber Inkers.  I hand have belonged to this group for 10 years they are always a lot of fun.  I thought it was a great time to use the new digital images at Fred, She Said Designs

The card opens up like a small booklet and I added some butterfly quotes along with Fred's beautiful butterflies that I layered.  The butterflies are one of the prettiest digital images that I have come across. I have only used a very small portion of the set making this card and I look forward to doing more designs with the other images in the grouping.

The card was coloured with a glitter pen, Copic markers and edged with distress inks. From Fred's collection I used the Marigolds & Morpho Set (flowers and butterflies) and also the frame inside of the two pages were from another set called Fred's Flowers v6-Daisies with Bracket Borders, which I printed on pattern paper and die cut with a Spellbinder die cut.

Thank you for stopping by and do something creative for yourself.

Time for a Sketch at Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges

It is my turn again to chose the challenge this week at Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges and I picked a sketch challenge. This is the challenge sketch.

My card is pretty basic, I used some of my scrap Christmas Paper and die cut it into the shapes of the sketch, added a Just Rite Stamp sentiment, edged design with glitter, added pearls and bling and a ribbon to complete the card. I like the way the sketch pattern paper went together to make the card.  Hope you are having a creative day and that you stop by Holly Jolly and join in the fun.

Easter Chick

I have exciting news, I am a quest designer for the next few months for Fred, She Said Designs. I look forward to the next few months of creating cards with the rest of the design team.

I am making Easter cards for my grandchildren right now and thought I would share this card I made using a Fred, She Said Design digital image called Easter Chick. The chick is so sweet in this design.

I used the easel card fold for the card and used the additional flowers from Fred's design to keep the front f the card in place.  I layered several pattern papers and coloured the card with my Copic Markers and a pink glitter pen.  The sentiment from Meljen Designs, I think it is a good compliment to Fred's design.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope your day is full of creativity.

Framelit Latch Card

This card fold is called a Framelit Latch Card and I thought the pattern was great for Shell's water play challenge this week at Come and Get It Challenges. This pattern has been around for a long time but it has been awhile since I have used it.

I used faux sand for the beach pebbles and Diamond Glaze for the water.  I coloured the rest of the image with my Copic Markers.   I like the beach look that the sand and the Diamond Glaze gave the card.

Show us your water play card at Come and Get this week.  Are you not tired of making snowman and hearts.   I am waiting for spring.  Actually I have run away from the snow and I am sitting in Arizona right now, not quite thje beach but the next best thing.

It is Bingo Time at Holly Jolly

Julie chose a Bingo for this week's challenge at Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges.   To play along with us you must chose a line across, diagonally or down and make your card using the three items that you find in that row.

I chose to use a diagonal row; pearls or gems, die cuts or punches and designer paper.

I used this traditional image of Christmas Bells and Holly from Just Inklined Digital Stamps for my project.  I decided to use a round easel pattern for the card shape and coloured my image with Copic Markers and glitter pens.  I added some coordinating striped designer paper, a two coloured Christmas ribbon, red pearls and three green jingle bells to complete the card.

Come join us this week at Holly Jolly.  It is never to early to start your Christmas cards.  Need some inspiration, pop over to the Holly Jolly Challenge blog and see what the other Holly Jolly Christmas elves have made this week.

Let's Go Fishing

I have the honour of being the guest designer at My Sheri's Crafts this week.  "Time to go Fishin" is the theme of  this challenge and the challenge is to you a fish on your card.   This is a great theme for a little boy or a big boy card.

Since I am still in Arizona on holidays I was limited to what I had on hand for this card. The cute little boy image is by Milk Coffee Digital Stamps which I coloured with my Copic Markers. I used a combination of papers in coordinating colours and patterns for the background layering.  The sentiment I added was from PollyCraft Digital Stamps and the fish was from part of a stamp I had in my collection.  I added some bling, black cord and some shine with Diamond Glaze on the boots to complete the card.

Please join Sheri and her design team in the fun challenge. Thank you for stopping by and hope everyone has a creative week.

Vellum and Metallic Rub Ons

I made this card for my daughter-in-laws upcoming birthday.  I punched the flower out of white vellum that had a gold and silver fleck in it, then I put the vellum petals through my big shot in an embossing folder.

The background papers is glossy card stock run through the big shot in an embossing folded then rubbed with metallic gold embossing paste which I added with my fingers.   I like the effect.  To complete the card I added a pretty button for the center of the flower and some silver ribbon.

The card is very simple but I think very pretty. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a creative day.

The Twin's First Christmas

Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges this week is have a 2 punch or dies challenge and Bugaboo Stamps is the sponsor of this challenge so everyone who enters their card has a chance of winning 7 digi stamps from Bugaboo.

This is my card.

I chose to use Bugaboo's Digital Image called Christmas Horse.  I made two similar cards because the cards are for my niece's twin's first Christmas.  I used two die cuts for the card and coloured the Christmas horses similarly but different.  I added their names to the card to personalize them and celebrate their first Christmas.

I hope you will join us this week at Holly Jolly.  You cannot start your Christmas cards too early.  If you need some inspiration pop over to the Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge site and see the inspiring cards by the other  members of the design team.

Hearts, Hearts, Hearts

We are still on our 10 week vacation  to Arizona.  Having a wonderful time but I am missing my craft room.  I have supplies hidden all over the trailer.   I am managing to get some cards made in the evenings but it takes some planning and a very sweet patient hubby.

This week at Come and Get it Challenges it is my turn to chose the challenge and I chose hearts of course since we are so close to Valentine's day.
I made this card for my grandson, River for Valentines day.

I used a glitter paper that already had the hearts cut into it and layered it over red card stock.  The sock monkey rubber stamp was from my collection of unmounted stamps  I coloured him with my Copic Markers and mounted him on some white glitter paper.  I added Diamond Glaze to my heart balloons along with some glitter for more sparkle.  I hope he likes my card.

Come join us at Come and Get It this week and show us your heart.  Thank you for stopping by and have a creative week.

Christmas Step Card - Santa and His Sleigh

I had fun creating this card for this step card challenge at Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges this week.  Great challenge choice Cindy.

The sleigh and the Santa Claus are digi stamps from Kenny K downloads.  I did lots of colouring with my Copics then added elements from a Christmas Paper Package I had purchased. A little bit of glitter and my step card was completed.

Hope you will come and join us this week at Holly Jolly and have a creative week.

Gold Leaf Heart

Valentine's day is just around the corner so there are many possibilities to use hearts on your card. My New Years' resolution was to try and use product that I have not used for a long time.  This card was a great opportunity to get out my sticky embossing powder and gold leafing.  I used a set of Hero Arts' heart stamps that I have not used for a long time along with a sentiment from my collection of rubber stamps.

I edged the die cut with a Marvy Gold metallic marker and the background paper came from my ever growing scrap paper pile. The gold cord is off of a Christmas parcel that I could not help myself to add to my ribbon and cord stash.

Thank you for stopping by and have a creative week.

The Twins are having a Birthday

My niece's little boys, Edwin and Alex  are turning one next month and I wanted to make them  individual cards to celebrate the day.  I wanted the cards to be similar but different.

I searched my stash of digital images and found these two images.  The first card of the little boy and the frog is by Fred, She Said Designs and the frog sitting on the garden pot is by Polycraft Digital Stamps. I tried to use similar colours on the cards and drew in some grass and a flower on the one card.

I coloured the cards with my Copic Marker, edged the cards with Distress Inks  and added some Diamond Glaze on the frogs' eyes to make them stand out.  I added a sentiment and a bow to complete the card.

The card reminds me that spring is just around the corner.

I hope they enjoy the card and now all I have to do to is to wrap the small gift I have for them.

Thank you stopping by and have a wonderful day.

Time for a Sketch at Come and Get It Challenges

Cindy this week at Come and Get It Challenges chose a sketch for the challenge.  Sketches are always fun.

This is my interpretation of the sketch.

This was a fun sketch.  I used my Hero Art Stamp and Cut set along with a Stampin Up sentiment. I coloured my flowers and butterfly with Copic Markers and the card was complete.

Please join in this challenge at Come and Get ItThank you for stopping by and I hope you have a creative week.
