About Me

Okanagan, BC, Canada
Welcome to my crafting blog. After retirement, my husband and I moved to a beautiful location in the Okanagan area of British Columbia. I love all paper crafts including mixed media, journaling and cards. I also dabble in papermaking, photography, fibre art, and altered books. I am an active member of several card and mixed media groups and on the design team of several challenge blog. I love the world of blogging, it has opened many doors for me. My favourite quote is by Maya Angelou. “You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.” I hope you join me in my search for my creative side. Thanks for stopping by!

Altered Mixed Media Clipboard

This is our first challenge of 2017 at Creative Artiste.  Remember your project when entering this challenge must be mixed media. The term “mixed media art” is a broad definition that covers many arts and crafts, including collage, assemblage (both 2D and 3D), altered objects, including books and boxes, handmade greeting cards, artist trading cards (ATCs) and tags, art journalling and book making as long as you use more then 2 different media's. Hope you will join us this month.

This month our sponsor is a company called "Things to Alter".

Things to Alter

Things to Alter has a great selection of good quality products for all of our mixed media projects.

I have used a collage frame from Altered Things that I altered using Shabby Green embossing enamel from Stampendous.  The pictures of the solider are of my dad heading off to World War 2. I believe he was 18 in these pictures, too young to be going to war.   He was in the French Canadian Army Tank Core stationed in France.  I used the collage frame to accent some small bottle cap stickers from a book called Paris Passport.

I also in my collage I used several stencils, stamps and metal words to convey the theme of my project.

Here are some closer views.

Thank you for stopping by and have a very creative month.  Remember to pop by our challenge blog to see the beautiful creations of our talented design team.
