Welcome to my crafting blog. After retirement, my husband and I moved to a beautiful location in the Okanagan area of British Columbia. I love all paper crafts including mixed media, journaling and cards. I also dabble in papermaking, photography, fibre art, and altered books. I am an active member of several card and mixed media groups and on the design team of several challenge blog. I love the world of blogging, it has opened many doors for me. My favourite quote is by Maya Angelou. “You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.” I hope you join me in my search for my creative side. Thanks for stopping by!

Heart - Altered Bottle

This altered bottle is  my project as DT at Altered Eclectics this month.

This is what my bottle looked like before I altered it.

I used a combination of gesso, a couple of colours of acrylic paints and the base of the bottle .  I used Deco Arts Metallic Luster (Orange Flicker) and  Inka Gold (Green Yellow)  to give the bottle shine and to accent the leaf  and heart design on the bottle. I added some lace for texture.  The large metal heart is a belt buckle that I coloured with paint and a gold leafing pen. I glued the metal heart on to the bottle with E6000.

This is the buckle close up.

This is the back of the bottle.  It used a couple of wooden hearts for the back of the bottle.

Thank you for stopping by and have a creative week. Remember to stop by Altered Eclectics to be inspired by the talented works of our design tea,

I am entering my altered bottle in the following challenges

  1. Fabulous creation. It reminds me of a beautiful bottle that a genie would come out of. We had a program here in the states called "I Dream Of Jeannie" and the bottle she came out of was enchanting. [Bunny]
