Christmas Foliage

Here is my card for this weeks challenge at Craftyhazelnut’s Christmas Challenge (#74), Christmas foliage. This lovely digi with the four robins and holly by Just Inklined Digi Stamps. I of saying by Stampin Up. I think the addition of the brad, glitter, and ribbon give the card a festive mood.

I am also entering this card in the Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge - Christmas birds.

Thanks for stopping by and have a creative day.

Flowers Through the Window

I have made this simple flower and window card for the Make it Monday Challenge  (#91) .  I used the new Grand Madison Window die for the window frame and a flower rubber stamp called Upsy Daisy that I stamped in dark blue pigment ink and embossed with a sparkling clear embossing powder. I added a couple of butterflies, a ribbon  and the card was completed.
I am also submitting this card for the Come and Get it Challenges window card challenge.

Christmas Duck

Inside

Christmas birds are the theme of this week’s challenge at Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges.  I have used a Christmas duck for his challenge from Penny Black.  I had in my stash some small Christmas file folders by Rusty Pickle and  I decided to use one as the base of my card with a couple of small clips with red dots to hold the card closed.

I layered Christmas papers, added glitter, a couple of sentiments and some Christmas lights to complete the card.

It's a Boy

Dynamic Duos this week (#4) theme this week is monochromatic colours and the colours are bashful blue and marina mist. When I think of that colour combo I immediately thought of a card for a baby boy. I found this digi image by Just Ink Lined Digi Stamps called "Baby Line" for this card. I like the cute teddy bear hanging on the line.

Once I had finished completing adding colour to the image I layered papers in the theme colour, a sentiment, pearls and added a ribbon to finish the card.

Fashionable Stamping Challenges - Steampunk

Before I decided to do this challenge at Fashionable Stamping challenges I did not know what Steampunk was. According to Wikapedia steampunk is "a genre which originated during the 1980s and early 1990s and incorporates elements of science fiction, fantasy, alternate history, horror and speculative fiction. It was a setting where steam power was widely used—whether in an alternate history such as Victorian - era of Britain or Wild West - era of the United States or in a post-apocalyptic time —that incorporates elements of either science fiction or fantasy".

I searched my stash for elements for my collage and came up with this card. It was fun to do, something different and I always love doing collages

Thank you for stopping by today to look at my creations.

Have a Fantasic Day

The challenge at Come and Get it Challenges this week is a window card.  I chose to use this sweet digi from Pollycraft Digital Images of a little girl swinging in a tree. I thought it was a nice image to do a window card with.
The design of my window card can be found on the Split Coast Stampers website. There are many different types of window cards and I chose this tent style card.

I coloured my image with my Copic Markers, layered papers and made a few paper flowers in coordinating colours and added them to the card along with a butterfly.

Thanks for stopping by and come join the fun at Come and Get it Challenges.

Vintage Collage

This is my second card for Party Time Tuesdays’ Challenge (#69) this week, Vintage or Shabby Chic. I had so much fun with my first card I kept on going.

Collage is one of my favourite styles of cards and works good with Shabby Chic or Vintage looks. So I hauled out my stash of sewing and design rubber stamps and started creating. It was lots of fun. I love the combination of buttons, lace, stamps and papers.

I would also like to enter this card into the Fashionable Stamping Challenges - "Steampunk".

Thank you for stopping by.

Indulge Yourself

Party Time Tuesdays’ Challenge (#69) this week is Vintage or Shabby Chic. From my stash of unmounted stamps I found this flapper girl stamp set. I used papers from Tom Holtz’s Ideology paper pack along with some vintage pearl beaded lace purchased at a flea market awhile ago.

I thought the card need some sparkle so I added a little PearlEx and glitter to her shoes and feathers. I think the theme of dust rose, brown and cream and the image gives the card a real vintage look.

Thank you for stopping by.

Happy Bird-day

This is a card I made for a friends upcoming birthday. I had just purchased a few new die cutters and embossing folders at a craft show and was wanting to make a card with them.

The chickadee dimensional die cutter is by Dee’s Distinctively. Branch is a die cutter by Memory Box and the embossing folder is by Bring Crafts-Too You. A Muse Artstamps is the maker of the sentiment "Happy Bird-day!"

I like the simple look of the card. Yellow is such a cheery colour.

Thanks for stopping by. Take time to do something creative for yourself today.

Rudolf is Coming to Town

Meighan at Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges chose the challenge this week, Anything Goes plus ribbon.  Robyn’s Fetish Digital Stamps is sponsoring the challenge and Random Org will choose the winner of five their fabulous digi stamps.  You can check out their stamps here.
I chose to use their reindeer digi called “Rudolf is Coming to Town” for my easel card. I think he is just so cute and adorable.  After colouring the image I added some die cut stars that I edged with my gold Krylon pen, vellum flourishes, some die cut labels, sentiment and of course the ribbon.

Now it’s your turn! We love to see your creativity at Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges, so please link your card up to our challenge blog when you are done!

Michael Strong's May Challenges

Hi. These are my cards I am entering in Michael Strongs’ challenges for the month of May. One challenge Mike gave us was a drawing that he had done that we had to incorporate into our card. That was a real challenge and along with the the restrictions of using the colours gray, black and white representing the the gray days.

This is the drawing he gave us

This is my card.

Along with the drawing I used his Cloisonné circle stamps and a digi stamp from Bugaboo Digi Stamps for the sentiment.

The second challenge was a card sketch. The one rule is that you must included at least one Michael Strong stamp in the sketch. These are always fun.

This is the sketch:

This is my sketch card.

For the background I stamped Mike’s Mosaic stamp with VersaMark and then added PearlEx powders in several colours. Once I covered the image I took the excess powder off with a swiffer duster. The Cloisonné Crane was embossed with Pearlustre Amethyst. I like the way the PearlEx shows off the details of the background stamp.

Well I better call it a night. Thank you for stopping by. I hope you come and join us at the Yahoo Group Enjoy Michael Strong Stamps.

This is Julie’s sketch:
This is my card:
The image is by Fred She Said, our sponsors and is called “Blue Jay and Raspberries” and it is from their Flying Bird series.

I love the cute little birds and how the pattern paper I chose works with the sketch.  Come join the fun at Come and Get it Challenges. Show us your creativity.

Plum Crazy

It is a colour challenge at Party Time Tuesday (PTT#  68) this week called Plum Crazy.
The colours are orchid, violet,  lilac and white. I just love the colour scheme.

I immediately thought of  this fairy digi I had in my stash by PollyCraft Digital Images.

The “Have a Lovely Day” sentiment is by Just-Rite stamps and I used a small Stampin Up swirl stamp in the background of the card to give the background some interest.  The fairy was coloured with my Copic Markers and the background was sponged with distressed inks.   To finish the card I added a ribbon and some bling.

Hope you are having a creative week.  Thanks for stopping by.

Day4 - Technique Day - Foxy Oxi

Thursday is technique day at Enjoy Michael Strong Stamps and I chose to do a technique from Split Coast Stampers that I had never tried before called “Foxy Oxi”.  You can read about the technique here.  I loved the technique; it was simple and made a nice background with the Oxi reacting with the distressed inks.
Next I stamped the Stampin Up background and the PSX  hydrangea stamp with Mike’s Cloisonné Crane the centre. To give the crane more presents I layered parts of the crane and added some bling.  The “wishing you ...” sentiment by Impressed was added along with a little bit of ribbon and a flower and my card was complete.
If you love to stamp come join us at Enjoy Michael Strong Rubber Stamps.  Remember my favourite quote is by Maya Angelou. "You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have."  Thanks for stopping and have a great creative day.

I Admire Your Drive

Hello, I am having a good day in my craft room although I should be cleaning my house. One of my cards I made today I used this stamp from Stamping Bella called I admire your drive.  I have made this card for the Dynamic Duoschallenge (DD#2). The colours of the challenge are Saffron and Pool Party, a very nice soft colour palette.

I used a Stampin Up flower stamp with inks the colours of the challenge to create the background papers and my Copics to colour the image.  Once I had the card together I added some ribbon, Diamond Glaze on the headlights and bling to finish the card off.

Thanks for stopping by and have a creative day.

Day 3 - Time to Enjoy

It is day 3 as card captain at Enjoy Michael Strong Stamps and today I have made a tag using the Wrinkle Free Distress technique.  Once I had inked my background using the technique I stamp it with the “time to enjoy” sentiment by Hero Arts.
I then added to the tag a background stamp by Stampin Up and a flourish stamp by Quiet Fire designs.  To complete the tag I added of course the Cloisonné Crane stamp by Michael Strong and some fibers.

Well back to my craft room to see if I have a space to work or if I have to clean up.

It Is Alll About Butterflies

I joined a swap this week and the subject in butterflies and we all love butterflies.  I embossed my large butterfly background stamp with white embossing powder on water colour paper then I dabbed on the distressed inks and sprayed the paper with water.  I used the same process for the Hero Arts butterfly.  It was a quick easy card and fun to make.

Christmas Stockings

It is my turn to pick the challenge at Holly Jolly Christmas challenges this week.  I decided on a theme of “Christmas stockings”.  I have this favourite Artful Stamper Christmas stocking that I used for the card along with a sentiment stamp from Stampendous.  The Stampendous stamp is part of a set called “ruffled wreath”.
I used non-traditional Christmas colours for the card and added a little bling to finish of the card. Now I have two cards for this upcoming Christmas and only a couple hundred more to go.  Click here to join us at Holly Jolly Christmas challenges.

Thanks you stopping by.

Japanese Kimono Card Sketch

Good Morning. This week it is my turn to be card captain this week at Yahoo Group “Enjoy Michael Strong Stamps”.  I love Mike’s stamps and it is always fun to try and come up with different ideas on how to use them. I love the challenge of coming up with new ideas be it a card sketch or a technique.
Today’s card is a sketch that I had come across that I chose to use Mike’s kimono stamp along with a couple of other oriental stamps that I have in my collection.  I liked how the simple card came out.
Click here for more info on “Enjoy Michael Strong Stamps” or click here to see Mike’s blog and his fantastic rubber stamps.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Dragonfly on Mica

It is day two for me as Card Captain at my Yahoo group Enjoy Michael Strong Stamps and my card today is using Mike’s dragonfly and mica.  I love the effect of the leafing foil and PearlEx Powder that I put between the layers of mica.  The background stamp is called “Italian Poem” by Hero Arts which I edged the paper with gold embossing powder.  I also used an embossing folder for part of the background and rubbed it with metallic rub to tie the papers and the dragonfly together.

Well back to my craft room to stamp some more.

Ain't No Sunshine

It is Sunday and Come and Get it Challenges has a colour challenge and the colours are pink, brown and blue. I just love the colour combination.  Bugaboo Digi stamps is sponsoring the challenge and Random org is picking the winner.
The stamps I used to create my card are from a Bugaboo angel set of stamps called “No Sunshine”.  I coloured the image with my Copic markers, added some layers of paper and die cuts in the challenge’s colours. To add some interest and texture I added Diamond Glaze to the areas that were wet from the rain.  I also added white PearlEx Powder to the wings to give them some sparkle.

Now it is your turn to make a card for this challenge. We would like to see your art work.  Thank you for stopping by and do something creative today, it is good for the soul.

No Peeking

Alota Rubber Stamps is having an “It’s all about animals” challenge (#82) this week.  I am busy trying to get a start on my Christmas card for this year. I know it is only May but I need to make a couple of hundred cards so I decided to make a animal themed Christmas card to ener in the challenge.

The mouse stamp I used to make the card is a stamp called “No Peeking” by Whipper Snapper Designs, Inc. I think the image of the mouse is very cute. I added several other elements including a clothes peg along with a sentiment to complete the card.

I would also like to enter this in the Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my card.

You're the Cats Pajamas

Hello fellow crafters.  Shopping Our Stash Challenge (#51) is to create a card using 3 or more designer papers. I search my stash for a set of co-ordinating designer papers for my card and came up with this pretty glitter papers by Lauren Jung called Hideaway. My latest purchase , the other day was this stamp by Kraftin’ Kimmie stamps called Joanie.  I like her sassy girl attitude.
I completed the card with some ribbon and of course bling.  I think that was enough for the card with the glittered paper in the background.  Thanks for stopping by and have a creative day.

I am so excited, this is the first post for Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges and we are going to have Christmas challenges all year round.   I was invited to be part of the design team.  Cindy, Julie, Meighan and I will be making up the Holly Jolly Christmas team of elves.  We will be picking a winner every week who will receive the Holly Jolly Christmas winner’s badge.
We also have more exciting news, Bugaboo Digi Stamps will be sponsoring one challenge a month and Random org will pick the winner of the 7 Bugaboo Stamps.  Bugaboo Digi Stamps is sponsoring our first challenge so I hope you all will join in.  Check out the Bugaboo Digi Stamps at:   http://www.bugaboostamps.com/

This week was Cindy's turn to choose the challenge and she chose to do a colour challenge. The colours are Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler and Always Artichoke. Someone must have had fun picking the names for these colours .
And here is my card.
I decided to use a digi stamp by Bugaboo called DeDe's ornaments for my card.  I wanted to add a 3D Christmas tree so I made a easel card so that my tree could stand up.  I think DeDe looks cute standing next to the tree.

Play Hard, Get Dirty

It is Sunday again and time for another challenge at Come and Get it Challenges.  The theme this week is a masculine card.  This digi image of a trucker is from Kenny K.  Downloads.   http://www.kennykdownloads.com/
I thought the 4X4, trucker and the “play hard” and “rad” sentiments made this card just right for a young guy.   The sentiments and star are from my collection of unmounted stamps.
Hope you will join us this week at Come and Get it Challenges.
Thanks for stopping by.

Out of My Scrap Pile

It is time for a card sketch with one of my yahoo groups this week. I had a lot of paper scraps from other projects that I used for the card and build my card around the sketch and the papers.  I added a sentiment and some bling to the design and my card was done.

Strawberry Picking

Party Time Tuesday’s Challenge (#66) this week is a “at least two ribbons on your card challenge”.  I had this cute Cherry Kisses, Strawberry Picking by Pollycraft Digital Stamps in my digi stash and thought it would make a cute card.  I also had in my stash had a piece of textured yellow file folder that I decided to use for Cherry Kisses’ outfit.  I really liked the texture of the paper.

The parts of the digi that I did not paper piece I coloured with my Copic Markers. I layered the image over a couple layers of strawberry vellum paper, added a couple of ribbons and a sentiment stamp by Stampin Up to finish the card.

Well back to my craft room to play some more.  Thank you for stopping by.

It's Your Day Mom

Tonight’s card is a card I made for Shopping Our Stash Challenge (#50).  The theme is Mother’s Day or anything “girly’.  I rumbled through my stash and found this poppy stamp that I have not used for a very long time and this neat set of gold, orange, pinky- purple and yellow papers.    I played with my die cutters, punches, inks and ribbons until I got my card to achieve the look I was after.

The butterfly stamp is by Hero Arts and the poppy stamp is by Local Rubber King.  Thank you for stopping by and have a creative day.

Birthday Fishes for a Friend

I made this card for a friend’s upcoming birthday.  He loves to fish and I loved this fisherman digi stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms. The fisherman makes me smile.  I am glad to see Cornish Heritage Farms back in business.  I have many of their rubber stamps.
http://www.cornishheritagefarms.com/cart.html

I stamped the background paper with a fly fishing stamp I had in my unmounted stamp collection and added a sentiment that was part of a digi image from Paper Makeup.
Well back to my craft room to clean up.  Thanks for stopping by.
