It's Your Birthday

I made this card this week for my friend, Margaret who is giving the card to a fun loving friend for her birthday.  Margaret wanted lots of glitter and sparkle on her card to go with her friend's personality.

Remember the 1970s when disco was popular?  This fun loving girl, disco queen is from MayzyArt and I think it has the bling and sparkle she was looking for.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look and have a creative day.

Stardust amd Pumpkin - Paper Piecing

This is my second card for the paper piecing challenge at Fitztown.  There is still time to join our this challenge just create your card and enter it here.

I made this card with an image  from the Stardust and Pumpkin collection from Fitztown.  I first printed and cut out my image in a fine patterned peach paper. My next step was to print and cut out the dress  and hair band in an coordinating green and peach dotted pattern paper. Once I added the dress and hairband  to my image I coloured her wings and hair with my Copic Markers.

To complete my card I added my image to layers of coordinating papers, added some faux stitching, bling and a flower.

A Warm Christmas

Meighan, an elf at Holly Jolly chose  this week's theme for the challenge.  Her challenge is very interesting, create a card made with warm Christmas colours or a scene, not winter.   Meighan lives in Australia and it is about time we made some Christmas card showing the celebration of our south of the equator card crafters.

I chose to make this surfing Santa for my card this week.   The digital stamp is by an Australian company called Spesch Designer Stamps. I coloured the image with my Copics and cut out the image with a two part Memory Box die, then I layered the image on a couple of different pattern papers.  I added a ribbon and sentiment to complete the card.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a creative day and come join us at Holly Jolly this week.

Things with Wings Challenge - Fitztown

This is my second card for the "things with wings" challenge at Fitztown.

For my card I used a digital image of Morgan Fitzsimons from the FAE Collection at Fitztown by Morgan Fitzsimons.   I love the fairy's little pointed ears. The dress and wings were paper pieced out of vellum paper.  The wings were cut out of silver vellum and the dress in a pattern vellum. I think the addition of the vellum gives the card a more fairy like feel.

The fairy was coloured with Copic markers and glitter pens and the background was a stencil and PanPastel.  To complete the card I added some fabric flowers, pearls, blig and a sentiment.

There is still time left to enter this challenge.  Hope you will show us your art work.

Old Fashion Christmas Ornament

Red, Green with gold or silver is the colour theme of this week's Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge and there is a great prize for one lucky winner of this challenge from Fred, She Said Designs.

I decided to use this cute Santa image from Fred called Little Fat Santa and make an old fashion Christmas Ornament.  I used an empty ribbon spool that I spray painted red then added gold and green glitter paper, red pompoms, and a two gold bells.  I after I had finished the background I added by fat Santa which I coloured with Copic Markers and added Polar White Flower Soft to Santa's jacket and Hat.  Did you ever make one of these ornament when you were young?

Come join us at Holly Jolly this week. Pop over to their challenge blog and see the cards that the rest of the design team have created to inspire you.

Time For a Sketch

My turn to pick the challenge at Come and Get It this week and I chose a sketch for this challenge. Here is my card I made from the sketch.

Here is the sketch. Hope you can see the sketch in my card.

The leaves on the card are cut with a set of die cuts by Dee's Distinctively out of some leftover Gelli print paper I had made for my art journal. I liked the colours and the variation of the pattern.  I hope you will join us this week at Come and Get It Challenges and thanks for stopping by.
