Here Comes Summer

Here comes summer is the theme of this week's challenge at Crafty CardmakersWhen I think of summer I think about the beautiful colours of all of the flowers and the butterflies . I have used alcohol inks in several colours on my background and then added a die that reminds me of my parents fence when I was growing up.  The butterflies also were coloured with Alcohol inks and  a white gell pen.

Thank you for stopping by and have a creative week.  Remember to stop by our challenge blog and be inspired by the creative works of our design team and join in our challenge.

I cut out my image with my new Scan  and Cut then coloured my image with my Copic markers. After I coloured my image I added a background of designer papers and some stars.  To complete my card I added a sentiment.

Thank you for stopping by and have a very creative day.

Sail a Way

The theme this week at Crafty Cardmakers is to make your project for a special man or boy. I made this card for a very special friend of ours' birthday.
I used a stencil by Stampendous for the background along with an element and birthday die by Tim Holtz.  The sailing ship is a stamp from my collection that at this moment I can not remember the maker's name.  The element die I used embossed with shabby blue embossing enamel and the sail boat I coloured with distressed ink.

To complete the card I added a anchor and steering wheel dies. Thank you for stopping by and have a creative week. Remember to stop by our challenge blog to see the inspiring creations of our design team.

Mixed Media Canvas - Adore

Time for another challenge at Creative Artiste.  Your project must be Mixed Media and can be an ATC, tag, card, layout, altered art or an off-the-page project as long as you follow the challenge specifications. You must use more then 3 different mediums on your project to qualify for our mixed media rules.

We have a great prize this month for one lucky winner.

This is my project for the month of June, a canvas using pictures of my newest grandson, Cooper. I used some handmade paper for the background of my canvas.  I added gesso, stencil, textured paper, stamping, drywall tape, lace, beads with his name, Adore,  stars, flowers and his birth date.

Anything Altered or Mixed Media Challenge

It is time for another great challenge at Altered Eclectics. The challenge is always anything goes as long as it is mixed media or altered art.

This is what I decided to alter, a felt hat from an old costume.

I used quite a few techniques to create my project.  I also made a couple of boo boos.  My mannequin head was made of Styrofoam and I did not know that if I sprayed it with an aerosol paint that the Styrofoam would melt.  The faced bubbled up and melted in spots. I may use it in a Halloween project.  In the end I painted a new head with white carpenter's glue and gesso.  Once the head was sealed I decoupaged dictionary  pages on the head then spray painted the face.

I used gesso on my hat before I painted it black.  The side decoration was a combination of Tim Holtz dies and metal pieces from an old belt.  I also used metal pieces from a couple of old belts I found at a thrift store. To create the rust effect I used acrylic paint, molding paste and cinnamon.

Here are a couple of more pictures of the project.

I had fun making my project.  I loved the metal pieces I found in the belt section of the thrift store. Thank you for stopping by and have a creative day.  Remember to pop over to our challenge blog to see the inspiring projects of our design team.

I am entering my project in the following challenges:

Pink and/or Purple Challenge

It is the 1st of the month and time for another challenge at Eclectic Ellapu.  The theme of the challenge is to create your project using a touch of colours pink and/or purple.  I love that colour combo.

The digital image I used is from a company called Tales of Pollycraft.  I believe the company is no longer operation but I loved her pretty fairy stamps.

I coloured my image with Copics, pencil crayon and glitter.  To complete my card I addes some stars and a sentiment.  Thank you for stopping by. Have a creative week.
