Thankful Challenge

Crafty Cardmakers this week has a Thankful Challenge and this is my autumn coloured card I made for this challenge.

To make my Many Thanks card I used alcohol inks in autumn colours along with a set of unmounted rubber stamps that the maker of the stamps escapes me at this moment.  The sentiment is an old Stampin Up stamp.  I added ribbons and gems to  complete the card.

I hope you you will join us this week. Remember to pop over to the Crafty Cardmakers blog to be inspired by the creativity of our fabulous design team.

Spooky Challenge

Crafty Cardmakers is having a spooky challenge this week and I have made this altered Halloween box for the challenge.  I am going to use this Halloween box for my Halloween treats for the little trick or treaters coming to my door.

The box was originally a boot box that I made a collage of a selection of Halloween napkins and scrapbook paper  to make the pattern.  I also added a lock, keys and a skeleton head to the top.
I added lights to the inside of the skelton head so that the eyes would glow.

To Cute to Spook

To cute to spook is the theme of this weeks challenge at Come and Get It Challenges this week. Our sponsor this week is Paper Nest Dolls and the image I used this week is called Little Witch Ellie. Isn't she cute?  I think you would agree that she is too cute to spook.

The image s was coloured with Copics and a Wink of Stella.  Thank you for stopping by and have a creative week.

Happy Halloween - Haunted House

It is another great Mixed Media challenge at Creative Artiste this month. Our sponsor  this month is DecoArt and they have a great prizes for one lucky winner.   I used several of their products , such as paints, gesso and Texture Sand Paste.

I had a lot of fun making my house.  I hunted through my collection of findings (many of which are straight junk) that I have collected through the years to create my  Haunted House.   I had a old wire tree in my collection that inspired me to do the project. I sprayed  the tree with Web Spray.

The house is made out of a piece of wood from my hubby's scrap pile. The base of the project is an old tray that I inverted.  I added stones on the roof and pathway and Popsicle sticks for the fence.  I cut out the grave stones out of cardboard and added my sentiments and a skeleton that I had recycled from another project.

I added texture paste to my windows and door before painting them and added few more findings from my collection such as the crow, a number, a cat die cut, spiders and a skeleton head.

Here are some closer looks at the project.

Fancy Folds - Wedding Card

Fancy Folds is the theme of this weeks Crafty Cardmakers challenge.

I made this wedding card for a dear friend of mine's granddaughter's wedding. I believe the card fold is called a never ending card and is actually 3 cards in one. Spread out the card is 18 by 6 inches. I have added 3 of my favourite wedding verses.  I also made an envelope in the same paper as the card for use as a gift card or to add money.

I also made a box to store to store the card in .  I embellished the card with rubber stamps from my collection and added many different elements including silk flowers, pearls, gems, ribbon and die cuts.

There are my 3 favourite wedding verses.

Scary Halloween

Time for another altered/mixed media challenge over at Altered Eclectics.  I have decided to alter cigar box into a Halloween decoration.  Thought I would put it put next to my Halloween Candy bowl this Halloween eve.

This is what I started with

I used the top of the box for the for the floor of my display then added my elements.  The doctor's prescriptions are some that I found at a flea market a few years ago. I added some red paint for blood,  I also added some skulls, old bottles, a book of spells, large needle and skeleton. It was a fun display to make.

Some closer looks
