Shabby Chic Card Challenge

Time for another Crafty Cardmakers challenge this month and the theme is Shabby Chic.

I made this cards from rubber stamps from my stash.  Bella is an unmounted stamp which I think was from a collection of stamps I bought years ago and still love and I think the company was from Vancouver and is out of business now.

I tore the edges to give the card pieces and inked to give the card an aged look,  The ribbon was tea dyed.  I used Copic  and pencil crayons to colour my image.

Here of another view of the card.

Crafty CardMakers Recycle an Element

I am hosting the challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers this week and I chose the theme of using a recycled element in your project.  For a friend I created this notebook using part of a cereal box for the core of the book.

I cut all of the pages, cover and core etc with a large round die cut .  For the cover of the notebook I  decorated it with Lavinia fairy stamps along with some other stamps from my collection. I used Distress Inks for the background along with gel pens, posta pens, Pentart glitter and Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Once I had created my cover I added some scrapbook paper from my stash on the back cover, the next step was to decide where to place my hinges on the from and then cut the front cover to allow the book to open.  I did not have the right colour of hinges so I painted the hinges with gesso and then with the purple colour to match the cover.

For the pages for the book I used regular typing paper and glued them at the top of the page and then glued them to the top of the back cover.  I decorated the pages with some few small fairies.

Added glue above the line to all of my pages and glued the pages into my notebook.

Altered Halloween Clock

Time for another great challenge over at Creative Artiste this month.

Our theme is always
"Anything Mixed Media Goes"
Please make sure you use multiple mediums on your  projects.

I have made an altered Halloween clock.  I used an old clock that I took this body out of the clock and  made a collage of from some paper napkins I had in my stash along with other Halloween papers for my stash.

This is the napkin I used for the main part of the collage.

Additional views

I used crackling paste, texture paste and an antiquing solution to give the clock an antique look.

I added leaves to the outside of the clock and added a Wink of Stella and glitter to the collage for sparkle.
