I is for Indian

One of my upcoming Inky Fun Stampers’ card swap challenges was to create a card that started with "I". I had this unmounted rubber stamp in my stash of an Indian Chief in this beautiful headdress. I coloured my image with my Copic Markers and glitter pens. I cut my circle with my Making Memories cutting system and added layers of card stock to give the card some interests.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a creative day.

Have a Fairytale Birthday - PTT # 51

It is time for Party Time Tuesday’s challenge and this weeks challenge is a special "Happy Birthday".

http://partytimetuesdays.blogspot.com/.

I chose to use this fairy digi stamp from Pollycraft Digital Images. I liked the way this pretty lady turned out sitting in her garden amongst the flowers.

I am presently on vacation and have taken a few of my crafting supplies along. It is interesting when you are creating and use to having ever crafting tool at your fingers and you have to make a decision what you are going to take with you in a 20 foot trailer for 6 weeks especially when your craft room is 12 by 20. I have not had very much access to the internet so I have not been able to post for awhile.

Happy crafting everyone and thanks for stopping by.

Crumb Cake, Marina Blue and Chocolate Chip

Crumb Cake, Marina Blue and Chocolate chip are the colours for the colour challenge for the Come and Get It challenge this week.  I just love this challenge blog.  There is a different challenge every week.  Come join the fun.
For this challenge I used a cute Fairy digi stamp from Pollycraft .  I searched my stash of papers and found this very pretty background paper in blue and brown and some blue and brown ribbon that tied in with the theme of the card.  I coloured my image with my Copic markers and Martha Stewart’s glitter pens.  I layered several different papers, edged the image and added some bling to complete the card.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cute Card Thursday Challenge #198

I have not had time to participate in Cute Card Thursday’s challenges for a while and I have been missing out in all of the fun.
http://www.cutecardthursday.blogspot.com/

The weeks challenge is “Something New”.   I chose to use this new digi stamp from Paper Shelter for my card.  I thought the birds in love were so in keeping of Valentine’s Day coming up.   The stamp I used for the flowers is a retired stamp from a set made by Stampin Up.  I stamped, coloured and cut out the flowers then I wet them and crumbled them.  Once the flowers were dried I affixed them to my card.   Thanks for looking.

Something New

This cute little fairy card was made for Party Time Tuesdays challenge this week.  The theme of this PTT #49 challenge is "something new".  Come and join the fun.
The inspiration for this card was the background paper that I managed to nearly cover with my design.  The fairy digi is from the collection of Pollycraft Digi Stamps.  Bling, ribbon and glitter give the card some sparkle and the way she is fastened to the card I think gives her some life.

Thanks for looking.

Card Sketch with Serigraph Technique

It is card sketch time at one of my favourite Yahoo Groups Enjoy Michael Strong Stamps.  I wanted to do a technique with this sketch and I decided on the serigraph technique that I found on Split Coast Stampers web site.
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/serigraph/

I used Mike’s mosaic frame stamp and used three colours of distressed inks to colour the rectangle that I cut from the frame to make the sketch pattern and the vertical stripes. I added the pattern to an embossed background that I inked the edges with one of the distressed inks.

The pattern made a very pretty simple card I think.  The frame stamp from Mike’s collection I think is one of the most versatile stamps.

Love is in the Air

I created this card for a challenge by the Yahoo Group Enjoy Michael Strong Stamps. The theme of the challenge is Love is in the Air. I wanted to create a metallic look to the card so I rubbed many layers of different colours of metallic Luster Rub-Ons over the embossed background. I then edged the card with copper embossing powder to complete the metal look, added the birds, and a metal embellishment with a ribbon to complete the card.

Birthday Wishes

This masculine birthday card I made for a friend’s upcoming birthday this month. The row boat stamp is by a rubber stamp company called Lasting Impressions with Panache. The fish stamp is a retired PSX stamp and the sentiment stamp is from my collection of unmounted stamps. I think the combination of these stamps, the Copic colouring and layering makes a simple interesting card. Thanks for stopping by and have a creative day.

Hoping All Of Your Birthday Fishes Come True

Well today is my last day of being card captain at Enjoy Michael Strong Stamps. It has been a good week. Today's creation was inspired by a card I seen on the Jennifer McGuire, Ink web site. Jennifer had layered a couple of types of papers to create a back ground. I decide to use a fine patterned blue paper cut into strips with my wave blade on my paper cutter along with layers of blue magic mesh to create the water effect. I added a Cloisonné Fish of Mike's, bling for the bubbles and sentiment to complete the birthday card. This card is ready to send off to a fishing enthusiast for his birthday.

My quote for today is by Earl Nightingale: "Everything begins with an idea." Thanks for stopping by and have a creative day.

Technique Thursday – Recessed Window

Hello fellow Crafters. It is my time to do a technique for Technique Thursday at Michael Strong's yahoo group, Enjoy Michael Strong Stamps and I decided to use the recessed window technique. The directions can be found on the Split Coast Stampers' web site:

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/recessedwindow/

I used Mike's small cloisonné tulip stamp for the inside of the window. I coloured the image with my markers and then added paper ribbons, butterflies, brads, bling and a sentiment to complete the card. I like the way the recess window makes the tulips stand out. Come join the fun at Enjoy Michael Strong Stamps.

Day 3 Snowman Fun

Hello fellow crafters. This simple designed card was created for my third card of the week for my Yahoo Group Enjoy Michael Strong Stamps.

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/inkyfunstampers/

I love Mike's snowman, it has such life to it. I found this card sketch online and with Mike's stamp thought it would make a good January themed card. I used a snowflake stamp by Kolette Hall with Stazon Ultramarine ink for the background and a EK punch for the trim. I added a little colour, ribbon and bling to give the card some sparkle and the card is read to be sent.

Have a creative day.

Day 2 – Copic Sections

This is my second card this week as card captain for the Yahoo Group Enjoy Michael Strong Stamps.

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/enjoyMichaelStrongstamps/

I  used a technique from an issue of Technique Junkies (June/July 2011) called Copic sections. I think a better name for the technique would be faux mosaics.
I used a glue to create the faux grout lines and Mike's mini fish, star fish and shell stamps to make the beach design. I then coloured the fish and the background with my Copics, although you could use several other methods to colour the card rather than the Copics such as your chalks or Pearl Ex. I used my EX punch to create the bubble design on my background paper.

My creative thought today is by Bo Bennett:
"Enthusiasm is excitement with inspiration, motivation, and a pinch of creativity."

Happy New Years! Cute Card Thursday Challenge #197

Celebrating the start of the New Year is the theme of this card I created for this challenge by Cute Card Thursday. Join in the fun at:

http://www.cutecardthursday.blogspot.com/

The snow bunny digi stamp is by Meljen's Design. I used the paper piecing technique for the snow bunny's coat, scarf and hat. Some of the embellishments I used were glitter, snowflakes, ribbon and bling. I think they give the card a more festive look. The celebrate stamp is by A Muse Artstamps. Thanks for stopping by.

Acrylic Smash Technique

Good morning everyone,

I have the honour of being Card Captain this week for the Yahoo Group Enjoy Michael Strong Stamps. Come join the fun.

For my first card this week I used the acrylic smash technique to create the kimono and background paper. The technique can be found on the Splitcoaststampers web site:

I combined the colours of green, gold and purple for both the kimono and the background paper but let more white show through on the background. The Japanese sentiment stamp is from my collection of unmounted rubber stamps and I added ribbon, pearls and a bow to complete the card.

My creative thought for the day is by Harvey Mackay:

"One sure-fire way to stay creative: force yourself to learn something new."
