At the Beach

The theme of the challenge this week at Crafty Cardmakers is "Here Comes Summer".  I can not think of summer without thinking about going to the beach.

The stamp I used to create this card as a TryFolds card called Beach by Art Impression although I did not create a tryfold card. .  The image was coloured with Copics, pencil crayon and a Posca pen.  I also used real shells, sand  and a texture stamp by JRL Designs.

Thank you for stopping by and have a creative week.   Check out the works of our talented design team here.

Into the Forest I Go

Time for another challenge at Splashy Mix Challenges

No photo description available.

Here is my project for this month's challenge.

I am avid hiker and live in a very beautiful mountainous area of British  Columbia.  I live with the forest at my door steps.  I can be found everyday hiking the hills with my dog, Lacey.

These walks in nature make me who I am. It gives me time to reflect about my day, plan my upcoming projects and be inspired by nature.

I used inks, paint, a texture stamp and Pan Pastels to create my canvas.

Altered Heart Bottle

Time for another challenge at Creative Artiste this month.  My project this month is an altered mixed media bottle.  large XOX pin, metal butterfly and crackle paint.

This is what I started with

To create my bottle I painted the outside of the bottle with white gesso then started to add my findings to the bottle.  Some of my findings were dollar store gems, flea market jewelry, lace,  napkin ring, and drawer knob. I used acrylic paint, crackle paint and Rust Effect by Pentart.

I love Your style

Time for another great challenge at Crafty CardMakers this month.  The theme of the challenge is dies or punches.

For this card I used a frame die from Yvonne's Creations along with a digital image by Fairy Ink.  The image was coloured with Copics and pencil crayons.

Other products I used on the card are Nuvo Crystal Drops, Wink of Stella, Diamond Glaze and a sentiment stamp.

Altered Hidden Compartment Book

Time for another challenge at Altered Eclectics this month.  The theme as always is anything goes but must be altered art. My project today is an altered compartment book.   I found this compartment book at a garage sale.  It was made of cardboard and in pretty rough shape.  I first used gesso to  coated the box before painting the box. I covered the box with  two different pieces of Stamperia rice paper.

back  and side of book

I added a cord to the back of the book and used some small beads (for sand), crackle paste and distress ink for texture  and shells (real and vellum) and couple of  sentiment.
