Welcome to my crafting blog. After retirement, my husband and I moved to a beautiful location in the Okanagan area of British Columbia. I love all paper crafts including mixed media, journaling and cards. I also dabble in papermaking, photography, fibre art, and altered books. I am an active member of several card and mixed media groups and on the design team of several challenge blog. I love the world of blogging, it has opened many doors for me. When Pigs Fly


This is my project for the Anything goes Challenge at Bleeding Art for May. I decided to use this old party hat from my stash along with a Flying pig I also has in my stash.


I painted the hat with grey gesso.  It took quite a few layers since the hat was a very absorbent felt type material. 



With a mold I added texture.


I cut up this belt and painted it with gesso and acrylic paint.


I found this flying pig at a thrift store which I painted.   

I painted the hat shades of brown and gold and then added a gear from an old mixer  I then also added  a butterfly, belt pieces for earrings and necklace, gears, words, eye lids and pennies.

    Judy, this hat is do darn creative and cool! Love it! Love also how you staged it on the head form with coordinated jewellery. Brilliant! :)
