Time for another mixed media challenge at Creative Artiste.
Our fabulous sponsor this month is
I decided to make an altered box using my new Andy Skinner swirl stencil.
I started with one of three wooden boxes I found at a thrift store. I got all three boxes for $2.00.
This is the wooden canister I started with.
Here are some more pictures of the project.
I painted my box with gesso then added texture using Andy Skinners swirl stencil and molding paste. I then painted the box with several colours of Acrylic Paint.
Next I added some round metal findings from a metal belt I found at a thrift store.
The knob on the top of the box was made with glueing a child's tea cup saucer, and a gear from my broken mix master. I added some dollar store gems to the edge of the box and painted them the colour of the box. My last step was to paint my project with Copper Modern Options Sophisticated Finishes and then Patina Green . I love the antique effect it gives a project.
