A Card for Kate Marie

We have a new addition to our family.  My niece Erin just had a little girl and the called her Kate Marie.  She is a little sister to two year old Ella.  I made this baby card to go along with the gift I am sending her.  I love the soft colours of green and yellow and the cute crawling baby stamp.    I think this card would be great for a boy or a girl.

Red, Black and khaki – Party Time Tuesday Challenge # 56

I am back from holidays and ready to do some creating.  This colour/photo challenge is all about the colours red, black and khaki or cream. I chose to use this elegant lady rubber stamp by Kanban Stamps from England.  I just love their designs.  I coloured the image with my Copics and red glitter pen and layered the card with dye cut papers in the colour theme of the challenge, then added some bows and bling.  My bows had white pearls on them so I painted the pearls with red glitter to complete the colour theme of the challenge.

Flowers Say Hello From The Heart

This card was created for a card sketch swap hosted by the Rubber Inkers Yahoo group. I coloured the die cut backgrounds with my my metalic rub-on to match the coordinating papers and added a sentiment, bling and silk flowers with brads to complete the card.

Pretty Lady

This beautiful rubber stamp of the lady dressed up for the evening is by Kanban Stamps from England. They have beautiful rubber stamps. 

I coloured the image with Copic markers and glitter pen. To complete the card I added a flower made from one of Tim Holtz die cutters, layers of papers and of course bling.

Still on Vacation

I am still on vacation and we are in Mesa right now. I am not getting as much crafting done as I would have liked to. It is pretty restrictive in a small trailer. I did get to a nice Scrapbook and Stamping store in downtown Yuma and purchased a few things I have not seen at home.

I also visited a wonderful shop in Bisbee owned by artist Julie Haymaker Thompson. She inspired me to try some paper clay. I am excited to do some playing with it when I return home. Her work is shown in a new art book called Creative Pilgrimage and also in January’s 2012 Somerset Workshop magazine.   Check her work out at:

In Tucson I visited Terry Medaris Art Stamps and made a purchase of a few new rubber stamps . He is an amazing artist. I am looking forward to playing with them when I return home.

In Mesa I was able to get together with paper artist Diana Enns, from one of my stamping groups. We had a good time talking about the group, paper crafting and she provided me with info on other crafting areas to explore and other creative groups. It was very nice meeting her in person.  Now I can put a face on the person I talk to online regularly.
