Altered Rustic Clock Wooden Canvas

Hi Judy here, with my inspirational project for May's rustic challenge.

Create any mixed media project incorporating inspiration from the below Moodboard

I was inspired by this rustic look and decided to create a reversed canvas on a wooden frame and use parts of an old wind up clock along with other findings from my boxes of treasures.

This is my old clock I found at a thrift store.

This is my completed creation.

To create my project I turned my wooden frame backwards and painted it copper brown. stamped with surface with a set of rubber stamps that were time related. Once I had the frame painted I added Patine blue antiquing solution.

To create the layers in my frame I used several plastic lids out of my recycling box.  I added the inside of the clock and some of the other clock piece to the design. When you move the project the clock still sometimes starts ticking.

I added many other pieces to the frame such as a couple of butterflies, clock front from Graphic Fairy, sentiment, metals, image from Tim Holtz and other findings.

Here are some closer looks:

Mixed Media Altered Bottle

It is time for another challenge at Creative Artiste this month.  Our theme this month, as always is Mixed Media. You must use multiple mediums on your project.

My project is an altered bottle.

Closer Look

I painted my bottle with black primer paste by Pentart and then added Stamperia's texture impression using Stamperia's Cream Paste. I just love their selection of texture plates.  The plate I used had 2 butterflies and a dragon fly in the pattern. I used heavy gel medium to glue the image to the bottle.  I coloured the image also with the primer. To highlight the image I used a combination of several colours of Pentart's wax paste and then dry brushed acrylic paint to highlight parts.

To complete the project I added an embossed tag coloured with Stamperia's Cream Paste.

Thank you for stopping by and have a creative week.  Remember to stop by our challenge blog to view the inspiring creations of out altered design team.

Steam Punk Altered Box

This is my project for May's Altered Eclectics, an Altered Art/Mixed Media Challenge Blog.

This is the box I started with.

I fell in love along time ago with the stamp art of Chris Stern of CS Designs and have this digital stamp in my collection for many years.  This round box seemed to be the perfect place to use it.

I coloured the image with Copics and pencil crayons. I used several metal findings as assect on the top of the box.  I used acrylic paint to paint the edge of the box and and lid.  I also used a celestial design stencil on the side of the box. To complete the altered box I added a couple of gears and a clock with wings.
