Time for another great challenge over at Crafty  Gals Corner. The theme this month is as always anything Goes with a twist "Summer Vibes".

I chose to use a set of rubber stamps by Whimsy Stamps.

The stamp set is called Beach Scene. Item no. DA1052.

The art paper I used for the card was designed by Jessica Hogarth Designs.

The paper pack is called Sail Away.

I used the following products for the card:

Creative Artiste August 2026 - Mixed Media Challenge - Anything Goes

Welcome to our August 2026 Challenge

This is my project for August, a small altered book made of coffee and acrylic stained acrylic paper. 

A few of the pages  from the book.

I used parts of an old note book  for the inside pages. I also dyed many pages.. I liked the designs it made.

I also added stars, sentiments, 

I used some steampunk papers from my stash and metal gears.  Along with coffee, acrylic paint and ink dyed papers I used several note book papers, scraps from my stash and metal pieces from my stash. It was a fun book to make.

In Search of My Creative Side - Creative Artiste - July 2026

 Time for another mixed media challenge at Creative Artiste.  This month I chose to make a  junk journal using an old Reader's Digest book.  I  glued pages together for strength and added different pages using several techniques.

Here are a few of my pages.  The book has 26 decorated pages.

I used paper napkins with modpoged , a  collage of  different die cuts, washi paper to keep the pages in the book together. 

I used die cuts from a art journal kit I found at a local craft store, the kit was from a collection from STAMPERIA.

Crafty Gals Corner, Anything Goes with Optional Twist - Sweets for Dad

We have a great challenge this month over at Crafty Gals Corner. The theme of the challenge is Anything Goes with an optional twist of "Sweets for Dad" 

This is my card I made for this challenge with an 2007 stamp by Whipper Snapper Designs Inc and is called Stack o' B'day Cakes. I have not had it out for quite a few years'

   

 

I used everything from my stash making this card. I coloured my cake image with Copic markers, glitter, pencil crayon. The sentiment stamp is by Magenta. I have had this stamp for a very long time and I end up using it when the sentiment is running vertical on the card. 

We will be taking our Summer break during July.  The winners for this challenge will be announced in August, when we return.

This is my June project. 

I have been playing with coffee and acrylic paint staining papers. I had taken a class and then I tried different variation of the staining at home. I used them in this project for my background. These are a few of the papers I was playing with the coffee staining. 

I got this idea for my project from one of my musical sheets that I was staining. I tried several different papers to stain and different strengths of coffee.

 The music sheet was for the song Rubber Duckie, a childhood favourite. I used instant Nescafe coffee for the coffee stains. I enjoyed this technique , I had only previously used tea bags for staining papers. 

 Along with the music sheets I added more background using with layers of stained paper. I completed the scene by adding yellow buttons, and a hand drawn rubber duckie.

This is my project for this month, an altered book with  hidden compartment.

I attended a mixed media class at PipArt creations a few month ago and this was our project. 

Using products  from Stamperia , PipArt and DaliArt. It was a fun class. We decorated the box with many different findings, decorated frame with an  antique colour scheme.  To create the the faux pages using a comb and molding paste.
