Time for another Challenge at Through the Craft Room Door
as always the theme of the challenge is Anything Goes.

Our generous Sponsor  is

I love spring when the crocus come out.  Their colours are beautiful.

To make the card I cut out the image with a square cutting die and layered the image on a fancy  square cutting die.  I coloured the card with copic markers, pencil crayons, and Micro Pearls. To complete the card I added my sentiment that came with the image, ribbon and sequences.

Anything Goes Challenge at A Place to Start w/Optional Twist : My Fauna Valentine (include a critter.)

Hello Crafters.  This is my card I made for this month's Anything Goes Challenge at A Place to Start.  The optional twist this month is to incude a critter on your Valentine card.

I chose to make a card with this cute dog image for my youngest grandson for Valentines day. The image call is from a company called Patties Creations, Pattie's digital stamps can be found on Esty. The image is called Puppy Love

In my stash of digital papers I had this paper I thought was cute for this card but unfortunantly I cannot remember the company that makes this dog paper pattern. I fussy cut out the image (decided not to use the hearts incuded on the image because of the paper used for the background.

I added some bones to the card from Tim Holtz's Crazy Dog Collection to repeat the pattern of the digital paper. I also added a sentiment that I created in word and the hearts.

Thank you for stopping by and have a creative week.  Hope you will join our challenge this month.

613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes - Optional Twist Valentine Whimsy

We have a new challenge this week at 613 Avenue Create and our theme is as always "Anything Goes".  The Optional Twist is Valentine Whimsy.

I chose to go with the Valentine theme but went more traditional card. I made this card for my husband using some mixed media paper I had made with my Gelli Plate and Acrylic paints.

I used this pretty heart cutting die  for the card along with a heart cutting die and letters from another set. I used glossy black card stock behind the the hearts to give the card some shine.

Closer look.

Thank you for stopping by and have a creative week.  Please join us this month, we would love to see your creations.

Altered Wooden Coffee Container with Wasp Nest Paper

Time for our first challenge of 2022 at Creative Artiste.

Hope you will join in the fun.

Remember

Your project must be Mixed Media and can be an ATC, tag, card, layout, altered art or an off-the-page project as long as you follow the challenge specifications. You must use at least 3 different mediums on your project to qualify for our mixed media rules.

(Find the complete set of rules on our blog.)

This is my project for this month, an altered Coffee box using among other things Paper from a found Wasp Nest.

Products I used for the project

This is the wasp nest that I found.

I purchased this old wooden coffee canister at our local thrift store.
I like using wooden canisters because they usually are lined with a plastic box inside which makes the box usuable for a lot of different purposes.

I sanded the box and added a coat of gesso and Violet Acyrlic Paint. I added the violet paint so that if I did not have enough of the nest material the violet colour would show through.  I painted the trim around the lid a lighter shade of violet.

I found this metal piece in  in a Thrift Store, it was a buckle of an old belt.  The other pieces of metal that I decorated the box with were also from some old metal belts from my stash.

I painted the metal pieces gesso.  For the buckle I painted it with Acrylic paint, Pentart  Wax Paste in blue and purple and a transparent Finishing wax.

I used a silver coaster from my stash to give the flowers some depth.

More views.

I added some metal feet from my stash along with my metal belt pieces. These metal pieces I rubbed with Pentart  Wax Paste in blue and purple and a transparent Finishing wax. and highlighted areas with white Acylic Paint.
