May Your Dreams Take Flight

Time for another great challenge at Crafty Cardmakers this week.  The theme of this challenge is to create your project using only black and white.

When I started to think about this black and white challenge right away a rubber stamp in my collection called European Travel by Rubbernecker Stamps came to mine. I stamped the background stamp in black and used two old Tim Holtz  dies called  Fleur De Lis and Eiffel Tower, white butterfly and then added a sentiment by A Muse Artstamps.

Thank you for stopping by and have a creative week. Pop over to the Crafty Cardmakers Blog and be inspired by the cards made by our talented design team.  Please join us this challenge.

Five Foot Two, Eyes of Blue

It is the first challenge of 2020 over at Crafty Cardmakers. The theme of the challenge is anything goes. For this challenge I created this small canvas in remembrance of my dad.  He loved the old song called "Five  Foot Two, Eyes of Blue.

I used a couple of musical dies, old sheet music, chipboard guitar and notes, walnut ink, and some small metal embellishments.  The song Five Foot Two, Eyes of Blue was written by Ray Henderson in 1925 and sang by several artist over the years.

Pretty in Pink - Altered Box

Time for another great challenge at Splashy Mix Challenges.  This is the mood board for this month's challenge.

I love the colours and textures of the mood board and they inspired me to create this project.

I chose to alter an old Christmas card box, which I had in my stash of things to alter.

This is the box that I altered.

This is my finished project.

Here are my steps that I used to create my altered box.

painted my box with a few layers of  white gesso
created a mould using Stamperia Texture Impression - Lace and Stamperia Cream Mixed Media Paste and adhered it to the top of the box
added gems and ribbon
painted the project with Pink Chiffon Pearl acrylic paint
used Metallic Gilding Polish and Pentart Gold Wax Paste to highlight the textures
and added metal findings, moulded heart, and gold wooden birds to complete the project

Here are some other views of the project.

Welcome Little One

I made this baby card for a friends new baby using a image from The Paper Shelter.  I loved this image and thought it went well with this pretty designer paper I had in my stash.

Inside and back view of the card

I coloured the image with Copic markers, fussy cut the image out and then layered it on my mix of  designer papers.  I also added some die cut stars and a sweet baby sentiment.   I  used gel pens, Nuvo Crystal Drops, and a Wink of Stella to add texture, shine and colour.

Thank you for stopping by and have a creative week.
