613 Avenue Create - Challenge - Anything Goes/Optional Twist Any Holiday

Time for another great creative challenge over at 613 Avenue Create. The Theme this month is as alway Anything Goes and the optional twist is to create a card for any holiday (your choice of holiday).

My choice for this challenge was the New Years Holiday.

This is my card.

My card was inspired by bubbles cards create by Teresa Kovalak that I found on YouTube.

Here  are a couple of her videos and there are many more on YouTube.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1ceggdcol8&t=33s

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SexKuJzLLPk&t=501s

I made several different backgrounds with the technique, some which I may use in a frame.  You never know how they will turn out and it is fun to doodle on them.

Products that I used for the card are

Several brands of Alcohol Inks from my stash
An assortment of glass jars and shot glasses
An assortment of Sharpies and Posca Pens for Doodling
Yubo Paper
New Years Die Cut

Christmas Angel

Time for another great challenge at Creative Artiste.

Our theme is as always

"Anything Mixed Media Goes"

Please make sure you use multiple mediums on your projects. Please respect that we do not currently accept Instagram entries. Only correctly linked blog entries please.

You can now enter as many new projects as you like.

This is my canvas I created for this challenge.

The image I used for this challenge is from an old Christmas card.

For the background I added scrap of blue and white scrap designer paper from my stash to the canvas. I wanted an aged look the the project so I tea dyed my flowers and a chiffon table napkin with starts on it.  The napkin started out being white chiffon with silver stars.  I ended up using the reverse of the napkin  because the stars did not take to the tea dying but the stars on the reverse of the napkin  did take the colour so I used the reverse for my project.

Some closer looks

I added stenciled snowflakes to the canvas using a stencil from PipArt that I just love the quality of it.  I added some lace that I also tea dyed for more texture and some lace dye cuts.

I framed the angel  image , added gems, flowers (some that I tea dyed), blue ribbon, and some old Christmas decorations.  It was a fun canvas to do for this upcoming holiday season.

Thank you for stopping by and have a creative week.  Remember to pop over to our challenge blog to be inspired by our talented design team. Happy Holidays, stay safe and we hope you will visit us next year.

Time for another great challenge over at Creative Artiste.  Our theme is always

"Anything Mixed Media Goes"

Please make sure you use multiple mediums on your projects. Please respect that we do not accept Instagram entries. Only correctly linked blog entries please.

Your project must be Mixed Media and can be an ATC, tag, card, layout, altered art or an off-the-page project as long as you follow the challenge specifications. You must use more then 3 different mediums on your project to qualify for our mixed media rules.

This is my project for this month.

I love mixed media, altered art, flea markets and garage sales. I had this violin in my stash and decided to make an altered mixed media music canvas.

More views

My violin was found at a local thrift store.   I added several different pieces to the violin including wooden butterfly, metal gear and clogs, metal flowers, dollar store gems, die cut notes.

The sentiment idea (you can't overdose on Music) came from Pinterest and inspired my canvas.

I used a reversed wooden canvas for the base and used some old music sheets for the background.  The background was stained with a brown paper stain.

I added many finding from my stash to the background, including gears, musical symbols, gems, metal flowers etc to the background.  I painted most of them with gesso then paints and metallic waxes. The inside edge and outer edge of the canvas was lined with burlap tape.

Thank you for stopping by and have a creative week.

Purely Handmade Challenge over at A Place to Start

This weeks challenge over at A Place to Start is called Purely Hand Made.

The Twist for this challenge is:
No electronic die-cuts(i.e. Silhouette, Cricut, etc). Fussy cutting and manual cutting only! (i.e., Sizzix Big Shot, etc.)

At least one stamped image.

No pre-colored digitals and no digital papers.

Embellishments are okay, but they cannot be the main focus of the design.  Twine, buttons, sequins, etc., are all okay

This is my project for this challenge.

I have a lot of paint pour canvas from when I was practicing paint pouring and thought I would be fun to use one for my project this week. Paint pouring is fun but I am very slow on mastering the process.

Here are some closer looks to the canvas.

I added a Tim Holtz sentiment to the canvas.

then I added some splashes of black Ink and some hanging hearts that I hand drew on the canvas with a  Sharpie.  The hearts were coloured with a Posta Pen.

I also added some floating stars coloured also with a Posta Pen. My Last step was to add some doodling.
