Paper Pretties Challenge # PWC 167 - Back to School

This card was created for the Paper Pretties “back to school” challenge. The back to school digi I used was from a company called Stitchy Bear. To complete the card I used some alphabet stamps, ABC paper and black bling. The ABC paper has been in my stash for nearly ten years and it was about time I found a use for it.

I am off on holidays, leaving tomorrow morning and will be back in a week and a half.

Sorry I Frogot!

“Puttin on the Ritz” is the name of this large frog rubber stamp by Sunday International. I chose this stamp for an upcoming Yahoo card swap I am participating in, the theme is “frogs”. I used a gate way fold for the card along with several Stampin Up stamps and punches and of course I had to add at least one piece of bling.

Well I better get back to my stamp room and get some clean up done. I am off on holidays tomorrow and may suffer from creative withdrawal for a week or so. I wonder if I can buy craft supplies in Disney World.

Be creative.

Cute Card Thursday - Wedding Dance

This week’s Cute Card Thursday’s challenge was a wedding card. I choose a digi stamp from Kenny K collection called “wedding dance”.

I coloured the images with Copics and added radiant pearls on the wedding dress to give it shine. I made the white flowers by punching flowers out of white card stock then wetting the cut outs with water and crunching them. Once the paper was dry I assembled the flowers. I added some white bows and butterflies along with some bling to give the card more of a wedding feeling.

I am back to my craft room for some more card making and maybe some clean up.

D = Dancing (Enchanted Dancing)

This card was created for an upcoming swap I have joined where the theme of the card is something that starts with "D". I immediately thought “D” is for dancing and this cute dancer I saw on the Paper Shelter’s web site called “Enchanted Dancing”.

I coloured the image with my Copics and radiant pearls. I added few more mushrooms (Stampin Up), a paper ribbon, bling, and a butterfly. I had an unmounted rubber stamp of ballet shoe that I wanted to put on the card but they were too large for the design so I got out my shrink plastic and made myself a few pairs of little ballet shoes. It had been a long time since I have used shrink plastic and I had for gotten how much fun it was to play with.

Use your imagination and create something.

Party Time Tuesdays - Sketch Challenge

I have used two Whimsie Doodle’s digis for this Party Time Tuesday’s card challenge called “Bubble Leah” and “soak”. I found the sketch challenge this week challenging using the different triangle shapes and tie them into the theme and colours of the card. The cocktail stamp and the texture stamp are from my unknown unmounted rubber stamps collection. For some interest I added Diamond Glaze to give the bubbles and glass a textured feeling.

Use your imagination and get creative.

Cute Card Thursday - Circus Baby

Clean and simple (CAS) was Cute Card Thursday’s Challenge this week. I choose to use two digis from Whimsie Doodles called “circus baby tent” and “circus baby giraffe”. I think they are the cuties images and would make a great baby card or child’s birthday card. I coloured the images with my Copic markers and tied the colours in with the colourful back ground paper I found in my stash.

Have a creative day.

Red, Black and White - Come and Get It Challenge

The Come and Get it Challenge with week was to create a card only using the colours red, white and black. To create this simple card I choose to emboss my black card stock with a flower stamp from Stampendous in red. I layered several papers and added some bling to enhance the red flowers.

It has been awhile since I have used my embossing powders and I have been thinking I should use them a little more often.

Be creative.

Pudding Chester - Pollycraft Challenge - Distressed

Pollycrafts’ challenge this week was to create a card that was distressed. I choose this cute digi image from Pollycraft of Chester eating Christmas pudding.

To create the distressed look I rolled and inked the torn edges, added some Radiant Pearls, glitter and some twine. I had fun colouring this cute image with my Copic markers. I cannot believe that I am now thinking about my Christmas cards.

Be creative. Find something inspiring.

Sketch Frenzy Friday - Butterfly

I used Stampendous butterfly stamp and Inkadinkado’s sentiment stamp to create this card for the Sketch Frenz Fridays’ blog challenge. I layered a couple of different pattern papers one which I embossed to give the card more texture. I coated the stamp areas with Radiant Pearls so the paper glistened and added a ribbon and bling to complete the card.

I managed to turn my craft room upside down tonight but think clean up will have to wait until tomorrow.

Have a great time creating everyone.

Inspiring Image - Party Time Tuesday

Party Time Tuesday's challenge was to create a card using a very pretty underwater scene as the inspirations. I immediately thought of a technique I read about in the June/July 2011 Technique Junkies magazine called Copic Sections. I think a better name for the technique would be faux mosaics.

I used a digi image for the shells from Digitial Doddles. It was the first time I had every used more than one digi on a card. I had to learn how to spin the images and try to place them randomly on the card face. I do need more practice in this area.

I used “Art Glitter”, a designer white glue from Art Institute Glitter Inc. to create the faux grout lines. I used various colours of Copics to colour the mosaic pieces and an EK punch to give the paper ribbon some style. I like trying different techniques and being able to apply them to challenges.

I am going to be away from my blog for a few days, we are off on a camping trip but I will be back posting early next week.

Have fun creating everyone.

Splish Splash I Was Taking A Bath- Paper Pretties Wednesday Challenge

Paper Pretties Challenge this week was die cuts. I fell in love with their digi that I used for this card called “Bath Time Cooper”. Since Cooper is taking a bubble bath I used a bubble theme to create the card. The die cuts I used paired well with the image along with the embossing folder I used. I used one of my favourite products, Diamond Glaze by Judkins to give the water and bubbles some life.

In my home, my bathroom has a large old fashion claw foot tub and on the wall I have the words “Splish splash I was taking a bath”, thus the title of the card.

Now back to my craft room to create some more.

You Make My heart Flutter - PollycraftsDigi Stamps Recyling Challenge

Pollycrafts’ Monday challenge this week is recycling. I chose to use their “Sonny Butterflies” digi stamp from their collection for this project then went digging in my paper scraps and other boxes where I keep my bling, discarded stamped images, ribbons and other odds and ends. I coloured the cute digi image my Copics. The additional stamps I used for this project were:

You make My heart Flutter - Inkadinkado
Flourishes - Stampin Up
Butterfly - unknown

Once I had the card constructed I gave the butterfly some antennas and added some bling and glitter to complete the card. This was a fun challenge.

Well back to the craft room to clean up.
Have a crafty day every one.

Autumn Birthday for Card Come and Get It Challenges

Today’s card I created for the Come and Get It Challenges. This was a challenge to think about autumn when it is 36 Degrees Celsius on my deck. I have been hiding in my cool craft room all day because I do not like this extreme heat.

To create the autumn coloured background I played around with various dye inks and then stamped the paper with some fall leaf stamps I have my collection of stamps.

I punched out a maple leaf and stamped it with “Happy Birthday” several times and “Life is Good”. Both sentiment stamps are by A Muse Artstamps. To finish the card I added a yellow and brown ribbon.

Well I am heading back to my craft room where it is cool and hopefully I can finish off some of my projects.

Card Thursday Challenge

This card was created for Cute Card Thursday Challenge. The challenge this week was to create a card with no pattern paper. I rummaged around in my stash of stamps looking for something to make for this challenge. I found two rubber stamps I have not used in a long time and thought I could make something interesting for the challenge.

Both the background stamp and the baseball stamp are unmounted and the company that made them is unknown. The fantastic stamp is by A Muse Artstamps. I stamped the images with Versafine Majestic blue ink, coloured them with Copics markers and added some red brads to complete the card.
Well I am calling it a night. The messy craft room will have to stay that way until the morning.

Be creative.

Paper Pretties Wednesday Card Sketch Challenge

This week’s Paper Pretties Wednesday challenge was a card sketch. I chose an Asian digi stamp called “Fan-tastic” by Paper Pretties for the challenge. I paired the image with some pretty origami paper I had in my stash. I think I found the perfect sentiment stamp for the card by A Muse Artstamps, “have a Fan-tastic day!”.

Well back to my craft room for hopefully some more creativity. My craft room is located in our basement and it a nice place to be on these hot summer evenings.

Have a creative day.

Paper Piecing

This card was created for a yahoo group upcoming swap. The technique is paper piecing. I stamped my paper with an old stamp of mine by Anita. I then used three different papers to do the paper piecing of the flower. I stamped the background paper with a pretty flourish stamp by Quiet Fire Designs. To complete the card I added a couple of brads, sepia glossy accents and rick rack trim.

I think the colouring of the papers used and the old flower design gives the card an antique look.

Be creative everyone.

Happy Birthday - Fancy Cake

This cute digi is by Pink Cat Studios and is called “Fancy Cake Cat”. I thought it was a great image for the Party Time Tuesday’s birthday card challenge this week. I like the card pattern the way it opens up because there is lots of real estate to decorate. The other products I used to create this card are:

It’s your birthday - All Night Media
Happy Happy Birthday - unknown
Candles – PSX
Small Flowers – Rustic Pickle
Butterfly – Doodle Designs – Hampton Art Stamps

I cut the paper to create this folded card, layered my die cuts, coloured the images with my Copics then added ribbon and some bling to complete the card.

Have a creative day everyone.

Birthday Garden

Today’s card creation is a card I made for the Come and Get It Sunday challenge. This cute digi image is by Whimsie Doodles and is called “Dottie’s Garden”. To add some interest to the card I coloured the image with Copic markers, added a button, glitter, fibre, pearls, bling and a paper punch ribbon. The sentiment stamp I added is called “Little Lady” by A Muse Art Stamps. The card to me had one area that seemed to need something else so I finished the card off with a punched butterfly by Martha Stewart.

I think I will give this cute colourful birthday card to my nephew’s daughter Kiah who is turning two this month. I think she will like the colours.

Happy creating everyone.
