Time for a Card Sketch

It is Cindy’s turn to choose the theme this week at Come and Get it Challenges and she has chosen a card sketch.

This is my interpretation of the sketch.

The background paper was colored with Gesso and Radiant Pearls mixed in colors of pink, blue and copper and then the paper was spritz with glimmer mist. Once the gesso had dried I cut out my frame using a cut and embossed frame from Cuttlebug called Carly. Inside the frame I added a scalloped circle and stamped a sentiment and embossed it with copper embossing powder. I layered the frame on copper card stock which I thought brought out the copper in the background paper. I then added a ribbon and some bling to complete the card.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you will join us at Come and Get It Challenges this week.

Trick or Treat

This week at Come and Get It Challenges it is a Anything but a Card challenge and Fred, She Said Designs is our sponsor. Fred, She Said Designs offers a wide variety of digital products with a floral flair and cute characters too - Digi’s, Pre-colored images, Papers, Sets, Fred’s Flower Kits, and even digital cutting files. Have some fun with Fred!

Random.org will choose a winner, and the winner will receive $10 to spend at Fred She Said.

I decided that I would use the Flat Back Treat Box pattern newly posted in the Splitcoaststampers web site and two Halloween images from Fred, She Said Designs. I think the Halloween images are so sweet . I tucked the puppy dog named Halloween Rosey into the edge of the box so that he would be in front on my design and I used a spring to hold the Emma the Cat out from the back of the treat box to give the image some depth and movement.

To complete my treat box I added a ribbon, some glitter, black Magic Mesh and a sentiment.

Come and join us at Come and Get it Challenges this week. Have a creative week everyone.

Christmas Joy

Sentiment only is the theme of this week’s challenge at Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges. The idea is to create your Christmas card with the sentiment being the focus of the card. That was a pretty easy assignment for me with this Joy stamp that I had in my stash. This set is unmounted and of course I do not know the company who made the set. The set consisted of the stamped letters and two different types of wreaths that substitute for the "O" in Joy.

I embossed the two letters in a burgundy embossing powder and the wreath in a gold gold embossing powder. I added a few layers of coordinating papers, ribbon and button and this simple card was complete.

Come join us at Holly Jolly this week. If you need some inspirational ideas check out the cards of the other Christmas elves here.

Over the Moon

Farm Animals are the theme of Come and Get it Challenges this week. Just Inklined Digital Stamps as a few really cute cow digi stamps. This digi is called over the moon. I loved the look on this cows face. He looks like he had enough and just couldn’t make that jump over the moon. I made this card for my nephew who had some serious surgery this week.  I hope it cheers him up.

Come join the fun at Come and Get it this week. If you need an inspiration hop over to Come and Get It Blog and check out the creations of the rest of the design team.

Day 5 - Dragonfly Tag

Final day as card captain this week at Yahoo Group, Enjoy Michael Strong Stamps and I have made another tag. I had my gesso out again playing with mixing colors and textures. I colored the gesso with Radiant Pearls in colors of pink, blue, orange and copper and gave the tag a spritz of glimmer mist. Once the gesso had dried I stamped the mesh background stamp by Stampin Up on the tag.

I made the flower from Tim Holtz die cutter called tattered flowers and the leaves from a Sizzix die cutter.

The dragonfly of course is from the Michael Strong collection. I stamped the dragonfly on a piece of left over textured paper I coated with gesso from the tag I made on day one. I embossed the dragon fly with copper embossing powder. I love the way the dragonfly shimmers in the light.

A sentiment and some ribbon completed the tag. I had a fun week as card captain . I hope you enjoyed my cars and tags this week.

Day 4 - Technique Day

Day 4 and it is technique day at Enjoy Michael Strong Stamps. For today I chose to use a technique I found on Splitcoaststampers called Embedded Image. You can find the directions for the technique here.

I stamped Mike’s hexagon image on a piece of pattern paper, covered the entire image with Versamark and then embossed it with clear embossing powder. I repeated the process again. I then stamped the two hummingbird images on top of the hexagon image and embossed them with copper embossing powder.

This process give the card an interesting effect. Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful day.

Day 3 - Finger Painting with Metallic Rub-on-Paste

It is Wednesday and Day 3 of being card captain at Yahoo group, Enjoy Michael Strong Stamps. My card today I used the Lily stamp from Mike’s collection and used Metallic Rub-on-Paste and my fingers to color the card. The background stamp is by my friend Lisa from Local Rubber King. I like the way the two stamps go together. They make a nice collage.

Thanks for stopping by and have a creative day.

Snowman Tag

This week at Come and Get It Challenges it is a Bingo challenge. The idea is to pick a row, any row going vertical, horizontal or diagonal from the grid then make a card using those items, now I have a free space in the middle, so you can use anything for that, just let us know what it is in your post.

PearlLaceDie Cuts
TwineFreeButtons
PunchesRhinestonesRibbon

Here is my card. I chose the line with pearls, free and rbbon.

I had fun making this tag . I had this piece of textured cardboard that I found in the recycle bin which I painted with gesso mixed with pearl EX Powders and Radiant Pearls. The picture of the tag does not show how the background sparkles in the light very well.

I added three rubber stamps. The snowman is by Michael Strong Rubber Stamps and the other two stamps are from my unmounted rubber stamp collection. I added glitter snowflakes, pearls and a ribbon to complete the tag.

This card is also my Day One as card captain at yahoo group Enjoy Michael Strong Stamps.  We have a lot of fun creating with Michael's stamps and every few months I like to take my turn as card captain.

I was pleased how the tag turned out. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you will join us at Come and Get it his week. Bingos are so much fun - lots of room for creativity.

Take Only the Memories

I have created this card for a card sketch swap at one of my favorite Yahoo Groups, the Rubber Inkers. For this simple sketch I used a rubber stamp by Stamp It Australia and a sentiment stamp by Cloud Nine Designs along with a collection of pattern papers.

I really liked the verse of the sentiment stamp and I thought it went well with the travel stamp.

Thank for stopping by today and have a creative week.
