FEBRUARY 2024 - ANYTHING GOES w/Optional Twist: Color Challenge: Pick A Palette

Time for another challenge at A Place to Start. The theme for February is as always Anything Goes and the optional twist is pick a colour palette and create a monochrome  project.

I decided to create my card using the monochrome colour palette of grey and black.

This is my card.

My Jazz Age card was created using a selection of rubber stamps from my stash along with several die cuts for the frame and music notes. The trumpet player I believe is an old rubber stamp from Rubberneckers.  I also used a rubber stamp for the record. I used Nuvo clear accents on the bubbles.
I hope that you will join us this challenge. Create you card and enter it here. Have a creative month.

FEBRUARY 2024 - 613 Avenue Create - ANYTHING GOES W/ OPTIONAL TWIST "LOVE LETTERS"

Time for another great challenge over at 613 Avenue Create, as always the challenge is anything goes and this month's optional twist is "Love Letters".

This is my card I made for the challenge.

I made this a simple card for this challenge using  alcohol inks, Love die cut, heart die cut and some gems. I had fun making this card and playing with my alcohol inks. I love the unique designs you can make with them.

The large word dies and so easy to use for a quick card and can be the center of almost all designer paper, and mixed medias backgrounds. I added an extra  heart that I thought suited the background and added a Wink of Stella to give it  some shine.

Thank you for stopping by and have a creative week. Hope to see your art work on our challenge board.

Creative Artiste - February 2024 - Anything Goes Mixed Media

Welcome back to Creative Artiste Challenges.  I hope 2024 is a very creative year for all of you.  There is so much going on in our world that sometimes so nice to hide out in our craft rooms.

As always our challenge is anything mixed media.  Your project must be Mixed Media and can be an ATC, tag, card, layout, altered art or an off-the-page project as long as you follow the challenge specifications. You must use at least 3 different mediums on your project to qualify for our mixed media rules.

This is my project for this challenged, an altered wooden canister.
I made the project as a gift for my 4 year old granddaughter to store her little treasures in.

This is the wooden canister  I started out with. I love using the wooden canisters as my canvas because they allow me to be creative and make something that I can make a to use as a gift  or a box can be used as a gift box. Most of them I have found in thrift stores foe vey little money and they usually have a plastic liner which means the box can hold cookies etc.

I sand the boxes then add my gesso, acrylic paints, assortment of inks, glitter, gel pen, stamps, die cuts, copic markers, Nuvo and findings.

I hope she will like her little gift. It was fun to make. Thank you for stopping by and have a creative month. Remember to check out all of the projects of our talented design team members.  Hope you will join us this month.
