613 Avenue Create - August Anything Goes 2022

Time for another great challenge over at 613 Avenue Create this month.  The theme of this challenge is anything goes.

Our sponsor this month is Mirtillamente Digital Stamps and Paper.

Our Prize this month is ........

I decided to do a mixed media project for this challenge using out sponsor's image called So'getta Window.   When I look at the digital stamp I thought she looked like she was looking out the window on a hot summer night.

To create my picture I used  a brick stencil with Liquitex Flexible Modeling Paste to create the background which I coloured with several shades of PanPastels.  I liked how the PanPastels  got into the crevasses of the faux bricks to make them appear for real.  I coloured the image with copics, and several colours of gel pens.  The sentiment was created on the computer and I added some die cut leaves.  I edged the leaves and image with walnut stained distressed ink.

Thank you for stopping by and have a creative week.  Remember to pop over to our challenge blog to be inspired by our talented design team.  Hope you will join us this month.

Creative Artiste August Challenge

Time for another great challenge over at Creative Artiste this month.

 Our theme is always

"Anything Mixed Media Goes"

Please make sure you use multiple mediums on your projects. Please respect that we do not currently accept Instagram entries. Only correctly linked blog entries please.

This is the project I made for this challenge. I made this altered art journal for a friends birthday.

I used an old style photo album.  I wish I could show it to you because it was a beautiful find but I managed to delete the pictures I took of it.  The cover was leather and each page had a second sheet of tissue page protecting it.

The pages themselves are a very high quality paper which I think will be good for sketching, water colour or markers.

I used several napkin pieces for my image that I collaged.  The layered pieces behind the image were from my scrap box.  One of the papers was from some glass I was unpacking and the other piece was from a paper bag made out of pineapple skin. Both papers were interesting and lots of texture.

I used Kroma Crackle for the cover of the book along with an assortment of acrylic paints. The Edges of the book were done with a gold leafing pen by Krylon.  I also added a rice paper butterfly and a napkin butterfly.  I edged the papers with Walnut distressed ink.
