Time to Take Flight

Time for another great challenge over at Bleeding Artwe're not only all mixed media all of the time but anything goes all of the time!

This month I thought I would alter small boot.

This is my unaltered boot which I purchases at a thrift store.

I first painted my boot with black gesso then added a Stamperia soft molded called Sea World which I painted with Pentart - Patina Effects. I added my wings which I recycled off of a small child's flying horse.  I also painted the wings with Patina Effect.

My next step was to add my collection of gear, clocks and brads. Some of my findings were die cuts, metal findings and wooden gears. To add texture and aging to the gears etc I used embossing powders(Stampendous Shabby Blue and Chuncky Metallic) and Pentart's Rust Effect Paints.

Some other views

To highlight parts of the boot I used with Pentart's greenish silver metalic paint, and gold wax along with white gesso.
