Butterfly Swirls

The theme this week over at Crafty Cardmakers is dry  or wet embossing. I decided to use dry embossing for this challenge and used a Darice butterfly corner embossing folder for card.  I cut out the embossed butterfly swirls area. 

I used designer paper for the blue background and the stamped butterflies.  This was a very simple card but I liked how it turned out.

Masculine Card Challenge at Crafty Cardmakers

The theme this week at Crafty Cardmakers this week is to create a card for a man or boy. 

I made this moose card for father's day.  My dad loved the outdoors.   I sometimes have a real hard time coming up with an idea for a masculine card but I liked this idea. I used a large moose die cut along with Tim Holtz's tree stamps and inks and my watercolour crayons for the background behind the moose. For the layering paper I used a Stampin Up Stamp mesh stamp.

Canvas Collage

Time for another great mixed media challenge at Creative Artiste.  I decided this month to do a canvas collage.  Our Sponsor this month is DecoArt. Check out their prize this month then join us in our challenge. 

To make my canvas I used several DecoArt products including a Andy Skinner stencil called Made to Measure, acrylic gesso and acrylic paints.  Other products used on my canvas were a rubber stamp by Stampington, clock and gear cutting die, designer paper, some metal findings and a Tim Holtz ruler.

Life is not a matter of .....

Can you belive it is June first and time for another Altered Art/Mixed Media challenge at Altered Eclectics. I decided to do a mixed media canvas this month using a Found Relative photo of Tim Holtz. 

My first step in creating my canvas was to use a few stencils and molding paste to give the project some texture.  My next step was to layer some tissue paper over the texture.  I next used a combination of stains and paint to add more depth.  

My finishing steps were to arrange my photo, tags, papers and findings on my canvas.

The Best Journeys ....

It is June already and /time for another challenge at Rhedd's Creative Spirit and this is my  project this month, an mixed media/altered art journal cover.

I was inspired by a video by Bella Rose Creative on Youtube called Paper Napkin Art Journal. 

 To create my cover I used

Anything Goes Challenge at Eclectic Ellapu

It is a anything goes challenge at Eclectic Ellapu this month and I decides to make a take using some sewing pattern paper and the Tim Holtz Sewing Edge die.  

I used several different sections of the sewing pattern paper and cover images for my tag. I also used acrylic paint, distress inks, markers and ribbon and brad to complete the tag.
