Welcome to my crafting blog. After retirement, my husband and I moved to a beautiful location in the Okanagan area of British Columbia. I love all paper crafts including mixed media, journaling and cards. I also dabble in papermaking, photography, fibre art, and altered books. I am an active member of several card and mixed media groups and on the design team of several challenge blog. I love the world of blogging, it has opened many doors for me. My favourite quote is by Maya Angelou. “You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.” I hope you join me in my search for my creative side. Thanks for stopping by!

Glazed Shaving Cream Shapes

Technique Junkies has a swap this month and the idea is to take a technique from one of their issues and create a card with it.  I chose to use the glazed shaving cream technique.  The shaving cream [ark of the technique is a variation of colouring card stock using reinkers and shaving cream that we used years ago.

The butterfly die cuts were coloured by dipping them in the multicoloured shaving cream then stamped with a verse stamp.  Next butterflies were coated with  Versa Mark ink and clear embossing powder.  The embossing gives the butterflies a very rich look.

The sentiment was embossed with purple embossing powder and layered on glitter paper and pattern paper.  To complete the card I added pearls.

Thank you for stopping by.
