Welcome to my crafting blog. After retirement, my husband and I moved to a beautiful location in the Okanagan area of British Columbia. I love all paper crafts including mixed media, journaling and cards. I also dabble in papermaking, photography, fibre art, and altered books. I am an active member of several card and mixed media groups and on the design team of several challenge blog. I love the world of blogging, it has opened many doors for me. My favourite quote is by Maya Angelou. “You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.” I hope you join me in my search for my creative side. Thanks for stopping by!

Mixed Media Altered box with Alcohol Ink and Acrylic Paints

Time for another great challenge this month at Creative Artiste this month.
Our theme is always
"Anything Mixed Media Goes"

Please make sure you use multiple mediums on your  projects.

I have altered a box for my project this month.

This is the box I started with, a wooden box I found at a thrift store on holidays.

I used gesso, a stencil with molding paste, dollar store gems, an assortment of findings and jewelry pieces on the lid of my box.  I coloured the box with alcohol inks and acrylic paints.

This was a fun project to make.  Thank you for stopping by and have a creative week.  Remember to pop over to our challenge blog to be inspired by our talented design team.  Hope you will join us this month.

I am entering my project in the following challenges

Mix It Up - Anything Goes - twist no stamping
Love to Craft Blog - Anything Goes
Creative Fingers- Anything Goes
A Bit More Time to Craft - Anything Goes

  4. Wow, this is stunning! I so enjoyed seeing how it all came together and the textures and embellishments look so beautiful 😀. Take care and Happy April! Hugs, Jo x

  5. What a great find that box was Judy, embellished so beautifully. It reminds me so much of a wooden box I decorated with shells for my Mother when I was a little girl, she still has it to this day. I'm intrigued to know what you will keep inside it.
    Hugs Tracey x

  6. What a fabulous box you have here Judy and an amazing transformation. Awesome colours and textures. Love the top with those beautiful elements and the ground base.
