Humourous Birthday Card Challenge

Come and Get It challenges this week has a humorous theme challenge.  I love the theme since I am tired of making seasonal cards.  I have many little ones’ birthdays coming up so I decided to make this cute farm card.  The digital image is called On My Farm and is by All Dressed Up one of our sponsors of this challenge.

I coloured the image with Copic Markers and added some bling and a button to the card.  I think the image is quite cute with the farm animals hanging out of the train.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look ,   Hope you will join us at Come and Get It this week.

Time For a Sketch

My turn to pick the challenge at Come and Get It this week and I chose a sketch for this challenge. Here is my card I made from the sketch.

Here is the sketch. Hope you can see the sketch in my card.

The leaves on the card are cut with a set of die cuts by Dee's Distinctively out of some leftover Gelli print paper I had made for my art journal. I liked the colours and the variation of the pattern.  I hope you will join us this week at Come and Get It Challenges and thanks for stopping by.

Sea Critter Challenge

Great challenge this week at Come and Get It Challenges.  We need to see a sea creature in your card.  What a fun challenge.  Great excuse to use come colour in your art work.

Bugaboo is the sponsor of this challenge and that means some lucky person is going to win a great prize.

My card was made with a fun Bugaboo image called "Make it Snappy, Birthday Fishes".  What a cute image - it brings a smile to your face.  I went crazy and added lots of colour to my card along with, glitter, Diamond Glaze and a ribbon.

Thank you for stopping by and have a creative day.  Remember to pop over to the Come and Get It blog and see the cards made by the rest of the design team to inspire you.

Come And Get It Challenges - Easel Card

This week’s Come and Get It Challenge was to make a easel card. I was pleased with the way this card turned out although I made several mistakes and make some modifications to my plan along the way.

I have wanted to try this technique using Michael Strong’s kimono die cut for awhile and today was my chance. I cut the plastic with the die cut, embossed it with the swirl embossing folder and add colour to the back with Future floor polish and die inks. I added some gold accent flakes while the floor polish was drying to add some interest.

The background paper was made to match the kimono by splashing the same dye inks on gloss card stock and smearing them around. I did not like the way they turned out so I grabbed my Simple Green cleaner that I use to clean my stamps and sprayed the paper. I liked that effect and decided to use the paper on my card. I then tried to add some gold rub on the outside swirls of the kimono but it would not set so I rubbed it off although some stayed in the crevices of the swirls and I liked the effect.

Well back to my craft room and see what else I come up with tonight.

Come And Get It Challenge- Spiders and Witches

I just love card sketches and one of the best challenge sites is the Come And Get It Challenge. They present you the sketch and how you interpret the challenge is left up to you.

Since Halloween is not too far away I decided to do a witch and spider theme. My inspiration came from Martha Stewart spider punch and black glitter I got off the sales rack after Halloween last year. The cute witch stamp is from my stash of unmounted rubber stamps. Halloween is such a fun time of the year.

I think I will send this card to my youngest grandson who is almost three and should remember Halloween this year. I do not think the card is too spooky.

Have a creative day everyone.

Come And Get It Challenges- Back to School

This back to school card was created for the Come and Get it Challenges. This vintage digi image is called "too many numbers". To make the card I also used the Cuttlebug star embossing folder, a book and a numbers die cuts. I think it makes a cute back to school theme card.

Well back to my craft room. I still have a birthday card to make tonight.

Red, Black and White - Come and Get It Challenge

The Come and Get it Challenge with week was to create a card only using the colours red, white and black. To create this simple card I choose to emboss my black card stock with a flower stamp from Stampendous in red. I layered several papers and added some bling to enhance the red flowers.

It has been awhile since I have used my embossing powders and I have been thinking I should use them a little more often.

Be creative.

Autumn Birthday for Card Come and Get It Challenges

Today’s card I created for the Come and Get It Challenges. This was a challenge to think about autumn when it is 36 Degrees Celsius on my deck. I have been hiding in my cool craft room all day because I do not like this extreme heat.

To create the autumn coloured background I played around with various dye inks and then stamped the paper with some fall leaf stamps I have my collection of stamps.

I punched out a maple leaf and stamped it with “Happy Birthday” several times and “Life is Good”. Both sentiment stamps are by A Muse Artstamps. To finish the card I added a yellow and brown ribbon.

Well I am heading back to my craft room where it is cool and hopefully I can finish off some of my projects.
