Glitter Galore

Do you love glitter? If you do this is the challenge for you.  Julie, one of the Christmas Elves at Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges has chosen "glitter galore" for the theme of this weeks challenge. Can you have too much glitter on a Christmas card?

My simple looking card was made with a Christmas bell die by Dee's Distinctively.   The die  is a three piece die that is quite detailed.  I first put a piece of wide Be Creative tape on a piece of card stock and then cut out the pieces to make my bell. Once the pieces were cut out I took the top layer off of the sticky tape of one of the pieces and then burnished glitter on the piece. I then did the same to the other two bell parts.  I used a different colour of glitter on each section. I then glued the pieces of the bell together and layered them on a die cut.  Next I added a ribbon, pearl and then layered it on to a piece of matching glitter paper from my stash.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you will join us for this glitter galore challenge.

Christmas Ornament Challenge

My turn the chose the challenge this week at Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges and I chose the theme to be Christmas ornaments, either an actual ornament or a card or tag with an ornament on it.

I chose to make this bird cage ornament using two different Tim Holtz's dies along with two dies for Dee's Distinctively. I coloured my bird with several shades of Inka Gold then I polished the bird to make it shine.  The bird cage was embossed and copper colour embossing powder was added and textured to give the cage an aged effect.

The branches were stippled with Dimensional Pearls and then I added the brown pearls to the cage.  The snow was added using Liquid Applique and heating it up to puff it up to make it look more like snow.

Hope you will join us this week at Holly Jolly.  Pop over to our blog and see the other creations the design team members have made to inspire you.

Glittered Chickadee

This week at Come and Get it Challenges it is the hostess choice challenge and the challenge is to use three of the following: purple, green, black, glitter, staples, gems, ribbon, circle and scallops. It is pretty easy to make a card using three of the choices.

I made this cute little chickadee from a die cutting stencil from Dee’s Distinctively.

My card has green, black, glitter, gems and circles on it. I think this card would make a nice tag for a gift or a thank you note.

Now it is your turn to make a card and enter it on our Come and Get it Challenge Blog. While you are there check out on the creations of the other design team members.
