Welcome to my crafting blog. After retirement, my husband and I moved to a beautiful location in the Okanagan area of British Columbia. I love all paper crafts including mixed media, journaling and cards. I also dabble in papermaking, photography, fibre art, and altered books. I am an active member of several card and mixed media groups and on the design team of several challenge blog. I love the world of blogging, it has opened many doors for me. My favourite quote is by Maya Angelou. “You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.” I hope you join me in my search for my creative side. Thanks for stopping by!

Always in Style

I made  this tag for an upcoming tag swap at the Inky Fun Stampers.  I was making a page for my Life Book journal and thought I would make the background of this tag with the made colours. I used my Gelli plate to create the background and added a couple of rubber stamps and some Washi tape for interest. The top is a pre-cut label from a package of scrapbook labels that happened to be the same colour as my project. I thought it made an interesting top to the tag.

I used one of my mix media Prima doll for the tag and punched my flowers out left over paper from my gelli late prints.  I paper pieced the dress, added a Stampin Up sentiment, ribbon and a couple of buttons.

Thanks for stopping by and have a creative days.

Every Rose has its Thorn (Poison)

Inky Fun §tampers has a great swap this month called Every Rose has its Thorn (Poison).  I love topics that you have to really think about what you are going to make for the card.  When I think of a poison rose I think a black rose but I thought that a black rose would be hard to do on a card so I decided to use the black in my background for the card.

My background was made with my Gelli plate.  I used a black and purple acrylic paint on my Gelli plate and pressed my textured plate background pattern.

Next I coloured my rose stamped image with a red and purple Copic Marker, cut out the image and  added to my paper.  I then added a black ribon and a row of black bling down the side of the card.  I think this was an interesting combination of textures, colours and embellishments.

Thank you for stopping by and have a creative day.
