Dry or Wet Embossing Challenge

Crafty Cardmakers this week has an embossing challenge,   You can use a dry or heat technique on your project.  I decided to make a Christmas card since the season is quickly coming upon us.

The snowflake background was embossed on a shimmer paper with a Cuttlebug embossing folder that I have had for many years.  The sentiment I love and is by Quiet Fire Designs.  The sentiment and the snowflake were embossed using a Platinum embossing powder. To complete the card I added a white and sliver ribbon.

Hope you will join us this week in this challenge.  Remember to pop over to our challenge blog to be inspired by the creations of the design team.

May You Have the Gladness of Christmas

Meighan, one of the design team Christmas Elves at Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges chose a wonderful challenge this week, Focus on Sentiment.    I think I have the most perfect set of stamps from Quiet Fire Designs for this challenge.  The set has several nice and different sentiments and I look forward to being able to use them in my upcoming Holly Jolly challenges.  I embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder.

The pretty papers I used were from a Christmas Stack by Little Yellow Bicycle called  25 days of  Christmas. To complete the card I added some white ribbon,
some star and bow tie of pearls.

Come join us this week at Holly Jolly and remember to have a creative day.

Steampunk Sally Tag

One of my favourite Yahoo Groups, Inky Fun Stampers is having a Steampunk  Tags swap and I made this tag for the swap.  I used a lot of different products to make this tag including rubber stamps from Quiet Fire Design, Stampers Anonymous  and a digitial stamp called Steampunk Sally from Delicious Doodles Shop.

I coloured my tag with Distress Ink Stains, added silver details with a silver outline pen and some texture with Distress embossing powder.   This was a fun tag to make and I hope my partner enjoys it.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a creative week.

Fashionable Stamping Challenges - Steampunk

Before I decided to do this challenge at Fashionable Stamping challenges I did not know what Steampunk was. According to Wikapedia steampunk is "a genre which originated during the 1980s and early 1990s and incorporates elements of science fiction, fantasy, alternate history, horror and speculative fiction. It was a setting where steam power was widely used—whether in an alternate history such as Victorian - era of Britain or Wild West - era of the United States or in a post-apocalyptic time —that incorporates elements of either science fiction or fantasy".

I searched my stash for elements for my collage and came up with this card. It was fun to do, something different and I always love doing collages

Thank you for stopping by today to look at my creations.

Come and Get It Challenges

This card is all about red and green. I love this little elf from a new company I found on the internet called Sliekju’s Digi Stamps, located in the Netherlands. The company has a lot of free digis, to check out her web site see:

http://sliekje.blogspot.com/

I stamped a flourish from Quiet Fire designs on my red background paper and then coloured my elf with my Copics, added layers of papers, die cut stars and a sentiment from a book of Christmas papers I had in my stash. Bling, glitter, a button and bow completed the card and it is ready to send to a special friend. The card says Happy Holidays.

Come and join the fun at Come and get Challenges. A new challenge every Sunday.

Paper Piecing

This card was created for a yahoo group upcoming swap. The technique is paper piecing. I stamped my paper with an old stamp of mine by Anita. I then used three different papers to do the paper piecing of the flower. I stamped the background paper with a pretty flourish stamp by Quiet Fire Designs. To complete the card I added a couple of brads, sepia glossy accents and rick rack trim.

I think the colouring of the papers used and the old flower design gives the card an antique look.

Be creative everyone.
