Welcome to my crafting blog. After retirement, my husband and I moved to a beautiful location in the Okanagan area of British Columbia. I love all paper crafts including mixed media, journaling and cards. I also dabble in papermaking, photography, fibre art, and altered books. I am an active member of several card and mixed media groups and on the design team of several challenge blog. I love the world of blogging, it has opened many doors for me. My favourite quote is by Maya Angelou. “You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.” I hope you join me in my search for my creative side. Thanks for stopping by!

It's a Bugs Life

The theme of the challenge this week at Crafty Cardmakers is "It's a Bugs Life".

I have been playing with my alcohol Inks and decided it was nice background paper for my dragonfly die. I had heard about using Kilz (a primer/sealer) on mixed media paper to seal the paper to be able to use alcohol on it. It appears to work very well for this application. Kilz can be purchased at a hardware or paint store.   I also used several colours of Nuvo Crystal and Glitter Drops on the wings.

Thank you for stopping by and have a creative week.   Check out the works of our talented design team here.

  1. Beautiful. I love the dragonfly. [Bunny]`

  2. Beautiful.....love the colours & the background is gorgeous x

  3. Gorgeous card Judy! Love the background .. the colours are stunning and it looks just like stained glass! Love the dragonfly too!! Have a great week!! hugs xx

  4. Lovely card Judy, what a beautiful dragonfly die. I've been playing with Alcohol inks rather a lot just recently but I have never heard of Kilz, I managed to get hold of some craft plastic which is much cheaper than Yupo paper, but works just as well.
Have a great evening, hugs Kimx
