Welcome to my crafting blog. After retirement, my husband and I moved to a beautiful location in the Okanagan area of British Columbia. I love all paper crafts including mixed media, journaling and cards. I also dabble in papermaking, photography, fibre art, and altered books. I am an active member of several card and mixed media groups and on the design team of several challenge blog. I love the world of blogging, it has opened many doors for me. My favourite quote is by Maya Angelou. “You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.” I hope you join me in my search for my creative side. Thanks for stopping by!

A Place to Start - January Anything Goes

Time for another great challenge at A Place to Start with is our first challenge of 2023.

 The theme this month is.

 ANYTHING GOES

This is my project for the challenge.
I am playing Anything Goes

I used a lid from a wooden box for my canvas for my mixed media collage.

I added for my background a sheet of nuts and bolts paper which I coloured with my distressed inks, then I proceed to add my elements to the collage.  From my stash I found some 7 Gypsies elements (sewing machine and basket) which I added to the project.  I had a collection of sewing rubber stamps that I used for the other elements for the collage along with threads, metal corners, and some packaging.
I trimmed the project with some metal tap and added a hook to the top out of part of a metal napkin holder.

I used a silver metallic pen and a black sharpie to outline and highlight the images.

Thank you for stopping by and have a creative week.  Remember to pop over to our challenge blog to be inspired by our talented design team.
