Creative Artiste - February 2024 - Anything Goes Mixed Media

Welcome back to Creative Artiste Challenges.  I hope 2024 is a very creative year for all of you.  There is so much going on in our world that sometimes so nice to hide out in our craft rooms.

As always our challenge is anything mixed media.  Your project must be Mixed Media and can be an ATC, tag, card, layout, altered art or an off-the-page project as long as you follow the challenge specifications. You must use at least 3 different mediums on your project to qualify for our mixed media rules.

This is my project for this challenged, an altered wooden canister.
I made the project as a gift for my 4 year old granddaughter to store her little treasures in.

This is the wooden canister  I started out with. I love using the wooden canisters as my canvas because they allow me to be creative and make something that I can make a to use as a gift  or a box can be used as a gift box. Most of them I have found in thrift stores foe vey little money and they usually have a plastic liner which means the box can hold cookies etc.

I sand the boxes then add my gesso, acrylic paints, assortment of inks, glitter, gel pen, stamps, die cuts, copic markers, Nuvo and findings.

I hope she will like her little gift. It was fun to make. Thank you for stopping by and have a creative month. Remember to check out all of the projects of our talented design team members.  Hope you will join us this month.

  1. Your Granddaughter is going to adore this Judy, those fabulous Fairies will keep her little treasures very safe. The black stamping against the painted background looks extremely mystical. You really do find the most fantastic items to recycle.
Happy Crafty February Hugs Tracey xx
