Dragonflies and Butterflies

Butterflies or/and dragonfies is the theme of this week's challenge at Come and Get It Challenges.  Fitztown is our sponsor for this challenge and the winner will win a fabulous prize.

My card image is called Fae 32 and is part of the set of digital stamp of the Fae series by Morgan Fitzsimons. I used the Upright Z fold card technique to make this card, you can find the tutorial here

My image was coloured with Copic Markers and glitter.  To tie in the background paper I embossed it with a feather embossing folder by Crafts-Too and coloured it with shades of orange and yellow PanPastels.  The final step to complete the card was I added a sentiment and some bling.

Join us this week at Come and Get it Challenges. Thank you for stopping by and do something creative for yourself.

Get Inky Stamps by Blue Moon Creations

I am excited to be one of the new  guest designer on the Get Inky Stamp design team.

Right now, they have a super fun anything goes challenge going on over at Get Inky! Challenge and this is my  inspiration.  This is their first challenge of the year and New Years post.  Since this is a special occasion I thought I would show you my New  Years Eve party creations

For this project, I used a digital image from Get Inky! Stamps called Hap Bee New Years and used a New Years hat, wine glass and a black paper from my stash. To colour my bee  I used my Copics (Y38, Y17 and Y6 ).   I used a stencil  from my stash and with a yellow PanPastels to create the background of my invitation and a black sharpie to frame the image. The "You're invited" was done with my computer. To complete the card I cut out of yellow glitter paper the stars with a Nestibilities die cut and the 2014 date with an alphabet die cut set from my stash.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you enjoy this project.   Get inky Stamps has several other stamps sets that you could for other celebrations such as a birthday party.  Check out their stamps here.

There is still time to join in the current challenge. I hope to see you again soon at Get Inky! Challenge. Have a creative day!!

Things with Wings Challenge - Fitztown

This is my second card for the "things with wings" challenge at Fitztown.

For my card I used a digital image of Morgan Fitzsimons from the FAE Collection at Fitztown by Morgan Fitzsimons.   I love the fairy's little pointed ears. The dress and wings were paper pieced out of vellum paper.  The wings were cut out of silver vellum and the dress in a pattern vellum. I think the addition of the vellum gives the card a more fairy like feel.

The fairy was coloured with Copic markers and glitter pens and the background was a stencil and PanPastel.  To complete the card I added some fabric flowers, pearls, blig and a sentiment.

There is still time left to enter this challenge.  Hope you will show us your art work.

Beachy Colours

I made this card for an upcomig swap at the Yahoo Group Inky Fun Stampers where the theme is beach colours. I had this pretty shell background paper in my stash and I thought I would run with the colours.

The fish scene is a rubber stamp from my collection that I coloured with my PanPastels.  I had also in my stash this ribbon I think looks like seaweed. I added some shell like buttons, pearls and a couple of pieces of Shrinky Dink plastic that I had stamped and coloured to look like sea glass.

Thank you for stopping by.

Macaron Hues

I created this card for an upcoming card swap, the theme being Macaron Hues.

The simple card's background was created with PanPastels.  I then used several different rubber stamps for the collage, the mesh and sentiment stamps are by Stampin Up and the hydrangea stamp is by PSX.

Thank you for stopping by and  I hope you have a creative day.

Off the Edge

Meighan came up with another great idea for a challenge this week at Come and Get It, create a card that your stamp goes off the edge of your card.  It is a great challenge to try something different.  I have been playing with PanPastels and some mix media style backgrounds and incorporated some of the techniques and products in this card.

I first coloured my background with several colours of PanPastels then stamped off the page with the mesh background stamp by Stampin Up in several areas of the card. I used stencils for the spotted areas and flowers in the background and added a small flourish.

I stamped off the edge the Hydrangeas stamp by PSX  in several areas of the card then added additional colour with  PanPastels. The sentiment by Hero Arts was stamped on paper that I also coloured with PanPastels.

I edged the card and the sentiments with a Krylon Gold Leafing pen. and then stippled the the card with Gold Dimensional Pearls. To complete the card I added a gold die cut butterfly.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look at my card.  Come join us this week at Come and Get It

Mix Media Birthday Card

I was playing with one of my favourite products tonight, PanPastels.  I made this birthday card for my dear friend Jenny for her birthday.  Hope she likes my card.

I coloured my background with three different colours of PanPastels  and then created more layers with three different background stamps over top of the areas I coloured.  The next step was to use two different stencils to create texture on the card.  I used this process in different areas of the card.  After my background was complete  add a few torn  strips of the Washi tape from the Tim Holtz collection and a ribbon.  Can you see all the products that I have used on the card?  Here is a close up.

The birthday celebration stamp is by Verses Rubber Stamps.  I have had the stamp in my collection for a very long time. The butterfly is a Cuttlebug die and embossing folder.  After I embossed the butterfly I coloured it with Distress Inks and edge it with a Gold Leaf pen by Krylon.  I only had a strip of white pearls for the spine of the butterfly so I coloured the pearls with the same Distress Ink I used for butterfly.

Thank you for looking.  Now back to my craft room to clean up.

Playing in the Craft Room - PanPastels

This stamp is by PSX and I have had it in my collection for many years and it is time that I had it out again.  I have been wanting to play with my new PanPastels that I purchased a week or so ago.

The PanPastels were interesting to use and I think I will do more researching on the different techniques that I can use with them.  Once I coloured my stamped image I layered it over a couple of different card stock paper , added some twine, ribbon and some bling.

Thank you for stopping to take a look.  I  now need to clean up my messy craft room.  Sometimes I think it takes me twice the time to clean the mess then the time to make the card.
