Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge - No Pattern Paper

It is Paige's turn to chose the challenge this week at Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges. and she chose no-pattern paper.  The possibilities for making Christmas cards is endless.

I chose to use a snowman skiing for my image for this challenge.  I thought this digital stamp from Just Inklinked was so cute and a great card for my oldest grandson Josh this Christmas.  To colour him I used bright colours and added Diamond Glaze to his goggles and the water.  The snowflake background is an old rubber stamp by PSX and the die cut snowflake is cut from my Cricut.  I love the way the easel card makes him look like he is sliding down the slope.

Now I am one more card closer to having my Christmas cards made this year and it is only August.  Come join us at Holly Jolly and be ready for Christmas early this year.

Macaron Hues

I created this card for an upcoming card swap, the theme being Macaron Hues.

The simple card's background was created with PanPastels.  I then used several different rubber stamps for the collage, the mesh and sentiment stamps are by Stampin Up and the hydrangea stamp is by PSX.

Thank you for stopping by and  I hope you have a creative day.

Off the Edge

Meighan came up with another great idea for a challenge this week at Come and Get It, create a card that your stamp goes off the edge of your card.  It is a great challenge to try something different.  I have been playing with PanPastels and some mix media style backgrounds and incorporated some of the techniques and products in this card.

I first coloured my background with several colours of PanPastels then stamped off the page with the mesh background stamp by Stampin Up in several areas of the card. I used stencils for the spotted areas and flowers in the background and added a small flourish.

I stamped off the edge the Hydrangeas stamp by PSX  in several areas of the card then added additional colour with  PanPastels. The sentiment by Hero Arts was stamped on paper that I also coloured with PanPastels.

I edged the card and the sentiments with a Krylon Gold Leafing pen. and then stippled the the card with Gold Dimensional Pearls. To complete the card I added a gold die cut butterfly.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look at my card.  Come join us this week at Come and Get It

Happy Mother's Day

I had fun creating this Mother's Day card.  I was playing around with Distress Inks and a couple of background stamps and a stencil to make the background of the card. The writing in the background is a rubber stamp by Hero Arts called Italian Poetry and the hydrangea stamp is by PSX.

After I stamped the background I used Tea Dye and Spun Sugar Distressed Ink over some areas and then stenciled the dots with  Milled Lavender Distress Ink.  A heart die cut on textured kraft paper was used for the heart and then it was rubbed with Tea Dye  Distress Ink. The laser cut butterfly was coloured with Distress Inks and Gold Liquid Pearls and then pearls were added.  The flowers were some silk wedding flowers I had in my stash that I coloured with Distressed Ink.

To complete the card I added a fringe of lace and pearls that I found at the flea market and a key that I found in my stash.

Thank you for stopping by to look.  Now I am headed back to my craft room to clean up the mess.

Playing in the Craft Room - PanPastels

This stamp is by PSX and I have had it in my collection for many years and it is time that I had it out again.  I have been wanting to play with my new PanPastels that I purchased a week or so ago.

The PanPastels were interesting to use and I think I will do more researching on the different techniques that I can use with them.  Once I coloured my stamped image I layered it over a couple of different card stock paper , added some twine, ribbon and some bling.

Thank you for stopping to take a look.  I  now need to clean up my messy craft room.  Sometimes I think it takes me twice the time to clean the mess then the time to make the card.

It is a Flower Challenge

Crafty Sentiment Designs this week has a flower challenge. I created this card for the challenge using a cover of a tourist magazine I picked up this week on a camping holiday. I loved the autumn colors. I used my Cricut and cut out a window to frame the image. I then used an embossing folder and some white ink to give the window some texture. I stamped part of a PSX stamp of flying geese in the sky of my image and then added my autumn flowers to the window box and sentiment by Hero Arts to complete the card.

Thank you for stopping by and have a creative day.

Finger Painting with Distress Inks - Day 3

Today’s card was created for day three as card captain at Michael Strong Rubber Stamps using one of Mike’s Cloisonne Crane rubber stamps and a feather stamp by PSX.

I embossed the feather stamp with white embossing powder and then used my fingers to add the different colours of distress ink over the embossed image. After inking the image I then took a cloth and rubbed the embossed areas removing any ink.

I layered the card with several different embossed papers, added a beautiful ribbon and the crane as an embellishment and the finishing touch for the card.

Starts With "B"

Shopping Our Stash Challenge (#49) theme this week is “starts with a B”. I have many Bs on my card; birthday, bling, brad and butterfly.

The technique I used was water colouring with distressed inks.  I stamped my water  colour paper with my hydrangea stamp (PSX) and embossed the image with white embossing powder.  I then sponged distressed inks on to my stamped images.  Once I had the desired effect I sprayed the paper with water, let the inks run and then let the paper dry.  Next I then sprayed my butterfly and the card base with Glitz Spritz by Moon Glow to give the card some glimmer. I pull out my tag curler for the first time in a very long time and added a happy birthday tag and ribbon.  My final step was to add some brads and bling to complete the card.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you have a very creative day.

Wrinkle Free Distress

I was playing with my distressed inks and working on an upcoming swap using the wrinkle free distress technique today.  You can find this technique on the Split Coast Stampers web site:

I have ink stains all over my hands but that is a quite normal. No fake nails for me.  I always forget to put on gloves. I have now several extra back grounds ready for some upcoming cards.

I used an old PSX - Hydrangea stamp from my stash for both the tag and the card.  To the card I added some photo corners, sentiment and a ribbon and to the tag some fibers, a sentiment and a butterfly.  The butterfly was made with another technique.  I added alcohol inks to tin foil that was fastened to some card stock. Then I used a die cutter to cut out the butterfly, embossed it and then rubbed the embossed edges with Stazon ink to bring out the pattern.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a creative day.

Nautical Theme Collage

I create this nautical theme collage card for a challenge by Fashionable Stamping Challenges (319).  You can see their challenges at:
It was fun going through all of my nautical rubber stamps to make the collage.  It has been a long time since I have had a lot of them out. Some of the stamps used in the collage are from Toybox, Inkadinkado, Lasting Impressions by Panache and PSX.  They are all older stamps that I had purchased many years ago.
I added some colour with my Tombow markers, distressed and alcohol inks, then I tied what I think is a nautical knot to add to the card to finish off the card.
Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great day.

Shopping Our Stash Challenge 43: Food/Beverage

I had not posted a Shopping Our Your Stash challenge for awhile and i thought it was time to join in again. I create this card for the food/beverage challenge this week.  I purchased this Margarita digi stamp set from Whimsie Doddles  awhile ago and I had the PSX party stamp in my stash for many many years.  I thought the two sets of images went well together.  To complete the card I added a ribbon that I dyed to go with the card and added Diamond Glaze to give the Margarita glass some depth and shine.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look.  I am now heading back to my craft room to stamp some more.

Happy Birthday - Fancy Cake

This cute digi is by Pink Cat Studios and is called “Fancy Cake Cat”. I thought it was a great image for the Party Time Tuesday’s birthday card challenge this week. I like the card pattern the way it opens up because there is lots of real estate to decorate. The other products I used to create this card are:

It’s your birthday - All Night Media
Happy Happy Birthday - unknown
Candles – PSX
Small Flowers – Rustic Pickle
Butterfly – Doodle Designs – Hampton Art Stamps

I cut the paper to create this folded card, layered my die cuts, coloured the images with my Copics then added ribbon and some bling to complete the card.

Have a creative day everyone.
