Monochromatic Challenge at SLS Lines

I created this monochromatic canvas this week for the SLS Lines Challenge blog for their May Challenge.  I fell in love with this image of a little girl reading and decided to make an altered canvas. The image is called young book reader in library. 

 

To make my canvas I covered my board with dictionary paper, used acrylic paint to colour the back ground brown and then used a Donna Downy stencil to create the words in the background using molding paste and PanPastels to colour the paste a brown tone.  The image was coloured with Copics all in shades of brown and I used distress inks to colour my sentiment.  It was a fun project.
