About Me

Okanagan, BC, Canada
Welcome to my crafting blog. After retirement, my husband and I moved to a beautiful location in the Okanagan area of British Columbia. I love all paper crafts including mixed media, journaling and cards. I also dabble in papermaking, photography, fibre art, and altered books. I am an active member of several card and mixed media groups and on the design team of several challenge blog. I love the world of blogging, it has opened many doors for me. My favourite quote is by Maya Angelou. “You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.” I hope you join me in my search for my creative side. Thanks for stopping by!

Time For A Card Sketch

I really like card sketches and every month at the yahoo group Enjoy Michael Strong Stamps we have a new sketch challenge.  Come join in the fun.
I decided to use an old technique called faux leather to create the background.  You use masking tape in torn into pieces and then a couple of different dye based inks to colour the tape. The instructions can be found on the Split Coast Stampers web site.
I think the first time I did this technique we used shoe polish to colour the tape.
The Cloisonn√© Fish stamp is by Michael Strong.  This stamp is made in two sizes and this is the smaller version.  The sentiment is from a set made by Just Rite stamps.
Thank you for taking a look.
