Altered Bottle - 613 Avenue Create

I am so excited that I have been invited to participate at 613 Avenue Create

The challenge for February is Anything Goes W/Optional Twist: "Heart and Soles" - use hearts or shoes in your design.

This is my project I made for my first challenge, an altered bottle.

This is the bottle I used for my project but part way through altering the bottle I decided not to use the original top I had for the bottle.

After adding gesso to  the bottle I stenciled an image using stencil paste on. The stencil was one from my stash by Seth Apter.  I painted the bottle with copper penny metallic acrylic paint.

I added gears, a metal flower and other findings which I painted with an  assortment of metal paints from Pentart and highlighted with gold Pentart Glamour paint.

Mixed Media Altered Bottle

It is time for another challenge at Creative Artiste this month.  Our theme this month, as always is Mixed Media. You must use multiple mediums on your project.

My project is an altered bottle.

I painted my bottle with black primer paste by Pentart and then added Stamperia's texture impression using Stamperia's Cream Paste. I just love their selection of texture plates.  The plate I used had 2 butterflies and a dragon fly in the pattern. I used heavy gel medium to glue the image to the bottle.  I coloured the image also with the primer. To highlight the image I used a combination of several colours of Pentart's wax paste and then dry brushed acrylic paint to highlight parts.

To complete the project I added an embossed tag coloured with Stamperia's Cream Paste.

Heart - Altered Bottle

This altered bottle is  my project as DT at Altered Eclectics this month.

This is what my bottle looked like before I altered it.

I used a combination of gesso, a couple of colours of acrylic paints and the base of the bottle .  I used Deco Arts Metallic Luster (Orange Flicker) and  Inka Gold (Green Yellow)  to give the bottle shine and to accent the leaf  and heart design on the bottle. I added some lace for texture.  The large metal heart is a belt buckle that I coloured with paint and a gold leafing pen. I glued the metal heart on to the bottle with E6000.

This is the buckle close up.

This is the back of the bottle.  It used a couple of wooden hearts for the back of the bottle.
