Welcome to my crafting blog. After retirement, my husband and I moved to a beautiful location in the Okanagan area of British Columbia. I love all paper crafts including mixed media, journaling and cards. I also dabble in papermaking, photography, fibre art, and altered books. I am an active member of several card and mixed media groups and on the design team of several challenge blog. I love the world of blogging, it has opened many doors for me. Encaustic Wax Butterfly Canvas

Time for a new challenge at Crafty Cardmakers and the theme is butterflies.  Who does not like butterflies.

I decided instead of a card I would make a canvas in the theme of butterflies with Encaustic Wax.  It had been a while since I have had my bee wax out and it was fun to create with it.

I used layers of wax , Tim Holtz  tissue paper, some coloured wax,  and Panpastels to create the background design.  I then used a couple of butterflies from a napkins to create the design along with some brown oil paint to add some edging.
