Encaustic Wax Butterfly Canvas

Time for a new challenge at Crafty Cardmakers and the theme is butterflies.  Who does not like butterflies.

I decided instead of a card I would make a canvas in the theme of butterflies with Encaustic Wax.  It had been a while since I have had my bee wax out and it was fun to create with it.

I used layers of wax , Tim Holtz  tissue paper, some coloured wax,  and Panpastels to create the background design.  I then used a couple of butterflies from a napkins to create the design along with some brown oil paint to add some edging.

Thank you for stopping by and have a creative week. Remember to pop over to our blog, Crafty Cardmakers to see the butterfly creations of our design team. Join us in the butterfly theme challenge.
