Altered Baby Shoes - Creative Artiste Challenge

We took a January break but we are now back for 2021 and it is time for another great challenge over at Creative Artiste this month.

As always the challenge is anything goes as long as you follow our rules.

Your project must be Mixed Media and can be an ATC, tag, card, layout, altered art or an off-the-page project as long as you follow the challenge specifications. You must use more then 3 different mediums on your project to qualify for our mixed media rules.

This is my project for February, an altered baby shoes.

These are the shoes that I found at a thrift store that I chose to altered.

Other Views of the project .

I also recycled a box  from my stash, a lace doily, pillow stuffing and some paper flowers.

The ballerina is a old photo from Tim Holtz's old photographs.

I first painted the shoes this gesso and added a coat of Kroma Crackle .

I used Pickled Raspberry Distress Oxide to add colour to the shoes.

The wooden box was sanded, had Kroma Crackle applies to the sides, stained with Tim Holtz stain walnut stain.
All of the flowers on the project were white in colour and I tea dyed them and the laced Doily to uniform the project.

The gems were from the dollar store and I also tea dyed them.

I had fun designing amd making the project.  Thank you for stopping by and have a creative week. Stay safe.  Hope you will join us this month  and pop by Creative Artiste to be inspired by our talented design team.

I am entering this project in the following Challenges

A Bit More Time to Craft - Anything Goes

  1. Wow, such an amazing make! The transformation is so beautiful, I love the design and how you created the pink crackle effect; that little ballerina is one of my favourites too 😀. Thanks for the inspiration and wishing you a happy February! All the best for 2021! Hugs, Jo x

  2. Oh Judy this is utterly fantastic, reminds me of my Daughter's first pair of shoes. They look so pretty in pink and i'm amazed at the amount of crackle you got using the Kroma, mine has never been so glorious. The altered box makes the perfect pedestal to display them, your imagination for mixed media never ceases to astound me!! Bravo.. Sending creative wishes your way Tracey xx

  3. This is amazing Judy!
    What a fantastic transformation

  4. What a fabulous project! First I saw a cake with these crackled yummy shoes, which reminded me a raspberry macaron with a touch of ice sugar. Wonderful display!

  5. Judy, this project absolutely takes my breath away! I so want to get back into up-cycling and repurposing. Your work may be what finally pushes me across the line!

I have quite a few cigar boxes that need some MM attention.
