Cherub Gift Box

This is another of my projects for Not Just Cards this month.  I made this gift box using a digital image from Delightful Digis'  Angel and Cherub collection.

I started my project by painting a kraft box with a couple of different colours of grey paint and edging the sides with Soot Distress Ink. My next step was to rubber stamp a flourish image all over the box giving the box an old look to it.  I coloured my Cherup image with a light colouring of Copic Markers and then applied sugaring to the complete image.  

To complete the project I added a die cut "love" and a fabric sweater enclosure to the front to the box.   I like the antique look for the box.  I think it is a nice effect to go with the image.   Thank you for stopping by and I hope we have lots of creativity today.   

Birthday Party Gift Bag

I made this Birthday Party bag for the anything goes challenge at Not Just Cards this month.    I used a cute image from Milk Coffee.  The image is called Fairy Princess.   I think she is just perfect for a little girls birthday. 

I made the gift bag by folding a paper lunch bag in half and decorating it with stars, doilies, flowers and a sentiment.  I coloured the image and accents with glitter glue, Distress Ink and Copic Markers.

I made this tag for the anything goes challenge at Not Just Cards this month.    I used a cute image from Milk Coffee.  The image is called  I want to be just like daddy.  What a cute image he is. 

I added the image to a puzzle background I cut out with die cuts in alternating colours.  The image was coloured with Copic Markers and a sentiment was added and ribbon to complete the tag,  Thank you for stopping by and have a creative month. Frame It

We have another great challenge at Incy wincy Challenges this week and the challenge is "frame it".   The sponsors for this challenge are WOW Embossing Powder and Polka Doodles. I choose to use this image by Polka Doodles for my wall hanging called Serenity Joyful, isn't she beautiful. 

I coloured my image with copic markers, glitter, and a gell pen.  I then added some die cut butterflies, brads and a lacy border trim to complete the wall hanging.

Make Stencil the Star

I was looking around the blog world today looking for a new art journal project and came across Mix Media World's make a Stencil the Star challenge.  I have several stenciled faces and thought I would use this one by Stencil Girl to create my page called Pretty as a Peacock.   

I stenciled my face using  black molding paste. The paper I used for the face was a piece of Gelli paper from my stash that I had created a long time ago.   I loved how this stencil turned out.  My next step was to use some water colour paper and colour the paper randomly with the colours similar to the face then with white acrylic paint I stenciled  using a Circle and Splatter stencil by Crafter's Work Shop.   I also randomly rubber stamped some feathers on the background with a old stamp by PSX.

Fun in the Sun

There is another great challenge this week at Come and Get It Challenges and the theme is Fun in The Sun.  One of the sponsors of the challenge is Sami Stamps and I have used their stamp called Ice Cream Beauty for my card. 

I used a couple of different designer papers on the card. I coloured the image with Copic markers, PanPastels, and Distress Ink. To complete the card I added a sentiment and a few starfishes.  Hope you will join us at Come and Get It Challenges . Thank you for stopping to take a look.

Steam Punk Cat

It is time for another challenge at Altered Eclectics this month and I have created a Steam Punk cat for my project this month.  

This is what I started with for my project.  I found it at a flea market in Arizona and have been holding on to it with the idea of altering it. 

I painted the cat with Gesso and then added my findings (old jewelry, pearls and gems, etc) with a heavy Matte Gell.  Once I had my findings attached I stenciled some areas with Molding paste and added some crackle medium in other area and then painted the whole project with a coat of white Gesso.  Once I had an even coat of gesso I  used a combination of 4 colours of ink sprays and coordinating acrylic paints to colour the cat.  I painted the face of the cat last and then used a light gold acrylic paint and a dry brush to add some shine all over the cat.   I also used a pink glitter pen in a few places to add more sparkle.
