Welcome to my crafting blog. After retirement, my husband and I moved to a beautiful location in the Okanagan area of British Columbia. I love all paper crafts including mixed media, journaling and cards. I also dabble in papermaking, photography, fibre art, and altered books. I am an active member of several card and mixed media groups and on the design team of several challenge blog. I love the world of blogging, it has opened many doors for me.
My favourite quote is by Maya Angelou. “You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.” I hope you join me in my search for my creative side. Thanks for stopping by!
It is Sunday again and time for another challenge at Come and Get it Challenges. The challenge this week is “anything but a card”and I had this box that I wanted to cover and thought it was a good opportunity to do it.I layered and decoupage some oriental style papers on to the box and used a Japanese letter stamp to create some additional writings on the box. I then used some of my antiquing tools and inks to distress the box. To complete the project I added a stick for the handle that I found on the beach that I inked and a fabric sewing closure to close the box
I think the box has the effect of being well used and I was pleased with how it turned out. Remember creativity does not go out of style. Come and join us at Come and Get it Challenges:
Great job on the box, I love it, but then I am a big fan of oriental stuff, not that I do a lot but am a fan.
