SLS Lines March Inspirational

I thought I would do an Art Journal page for my March Inspirational project at SLS Lines.

I used this interesting pirate image for my art journal page, you can find this image in SLS Lines' Esty store and you can find it here

To create my page I used designer paper that I glued into my art journal book, then I added some white bubbles with molding paste and a stencil.  I also add a few more circles with a white Posca pen.  I coloured my image with Copics and gell pen then attach the image to my the art journal page.

I found a wooden anchor in my stash that I painted black and attached a jute cord to it and then attached the anchor and cord to the page, then I added some doodling.  To complete the project I added some gold coins

Retro Rubber Challenge - Sketch

I decide to join in the challenge at Retro Rubber  this week.  It is a sketch challenge and this is the sketch.

RRCB 33

I have just found this challenge blog and  I have enjoyed the challenges I have joined in.  I am excited about a chance of using some of my stash of rubber stamps.  One of the rules of the challenge is you always had to use a stamp older than a year and include the age (or approximate age) of the stamp in your blog post.

My stylish ladies are a set of rubber stamps I probably had for about ten years.  They are unmounted so I no longer remember who's stamps they belong to.  The sentiment is Stampin Up and was dated 2006.

Thank you for stopping by and check out the Retro Rubber Challenge.  It is time to get inky.

Altered Kleenex Box

Time for another challenge at Creative Artiste and my project this month is an altered Kleenex box. The Theme of the challenge is anything goes with a twist -  add some chipboard.

We are proudly sponsored this month by

I painted my Kleenex box with gray gesso then added some chipboard pieces (butterfly, heart and flowers).  To fill in my piece I used dollar store bling and old jewelry to the box with Heavy  Gel Medium. I also add some diamond shaped wood pieces that I got from taking a part an old trivet.  One I was satisfied with my pattern I sprayed the box with several colours of ink sprays then when I completed the box I added a clear acrylic paint to protect it.

This is the box I started with.

Here is a few different views of the box.

This was a fun messy project that took we a couple of weeks to complete.   I think this project will find a home in my bedroom.   Thank you for stopping by.   Please pop over to the Creative Artiste Blog to see the other projects the design team created to inspire you.

Have a creative day.

March Mixed Media Challenge at Altered Eclectics

I made these mixed media House for a challenge this month at Altered Eclectics.  I used many different products for houses.  I retrieved the wood for my house out of my husband's wood scrap pile.  He nicely cut me some roofs.  I had lots of fun making the houses although it was a bigger job than I thought it would be.  The shelf is 3 feet long and the tallest house is a foot in height.

Here is a closer look at the houses.

On my white house  I added a die cut tree, bike (made by my hubby) rubber stamped numbers and little girl, name tiles and a clock.

The on the green house I used crackle paint on the roof and model paste on the door frame.  I also added some rubber stamped flowers and, tiles, wooden hear and a button for the door.

On my red house I drew my windows and my door and painted them, added the Tim Holtz number, gear for the door handle, stamped Owl's nest, and a owl I found at a thrift store that I altered.

On my last house I used a stencil on the roof and sides of the house.  I painted on the doors and windows and decoupaged the grass that I drew, stamped the door and added house number and door knob.

Thank you for stopping by.  I hope you will join us this month at Altered Eclectics.  Have a creative day.
