Merry Christmas - Pinecones

Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges' challenge this week is to create a Christmas card with nature in mind.  Lots of different cards come to mind such as poinsettias, pines, holly and Christmas trees.  I chose to use our sponsor Fred She Said Designs' pine cone spray for my card.  Fred has a great assortment of nature inspired digital stamps and is offering a great prize for one lucky winner.
Please Join...

Once I had arranged my images on the page the way I wanted I used evergreen distress ink to colour part of the card then added some Copic Markers on the pin needles and pine cones.  I then embossed a Merry Christmas in gold embossing powered and flicked some white acrylic paint to represent snow on the scene.  To complete the card I added some bling and layered the image over gold paper.

Come join us this week at Holly Jolly. Thank you for stopping to take a look.

It's a Birthday Party

At one of my favourite card Yahoo card groups, the Rubber Inkers are having a swap of cascade cards.  I thought it would be fun to do a birthday cascade card. This is the front of my card with Desmond Donkey by Paper Pretties.

Here is one side view

And here is the other side with Cotton Candee by Paper Pretties.

I had fun creating the card. I loved using the two digital images by Paper Pretties together.  I also used many other products on the card including: paper from the recycle bin, rubbers stamps, Copic markers, Distress inks, paper by My Mind's Eye, die cuts and glitter.

Well my card is ready for mailing and my craft room is a disaster. Time to do some clean up. Thank you for stopping to take a look.

Born to Shop

Hi fellow card makers.  My card is based on a sketch which was my choice this week at Come and Get It Challenges this week and here is the sketch  ....

This was a simple card to make, I used two different square punches to make the shopping bags and added some twine to make the handles.  It is a great little pattern for using up some scraps.

I stamped the background paper with a flourish stamp by Bo Bunny and Distress Inks.   I added some rows of bling to the shopping bags, a ribbon and a pearl and the card was complete.

I titled my card "born to shop"  - it should have read "Born to shop for craft supplies". Hope you will join us this week at Come and Get It. Thank you for stopping by and have a great day.

Inspirational Photo Challenge

This week at Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges the challenge is to create a card using Meighan’s inspirational photo. This photo to me says "Merry Christmas".

Here is my card inspired by her photo.

When I saw the photo I thought of this Holiday Candle Arrangement stamp I had in my stash by Embossing Arts Co. To colour my image I used a glitter pen and several colours of Copic Markers. I used old paper Distress ink for the background colour. I then layer my pretty pattern papers, edged them with my gold Krylon pen and added a gold ribbon to complete .

This is a great Christmas Challenge this week hope you will join in the fun and get those Christmas card done early this year. Just create your card and entry it here.

Finger Painting with Distress Inks - Day 3

Today’s card was created for day three as card captain at Michael Strong Rubber Stamps using one of Mike’s Cloisonne Crane rubber stamps and a feather stamp by PSX.

I embossed the feather stamp with white embossing powder and then used my fingers to add the different colours of distress ink over the embossed image. After inking the image I then took a cloth and rubbed the embossed areas removing any ink.

I layered the card with several different embossed papers, added a beautiful ribbon and the crane as an embellishment and the finishing touch for the card.

Swapping Fun

My yahoo group Inky Fun Stampers has an upcoming cards swap with a theme of what does “L” stand for.  L is for live, love and laugh of course.  I found this pretty digi image on the web site of Bugaboo digi stamps.  Thought it was a great match for the swap.

The butterfly is one of my new Hero Arts stamp and die cutters. I coloured the images with a combination of Copics, distressed inks and glitter, then added a couple of layers of co-coordinating paper to finish the card.

This cute pocket tag card was also made for an upcoming Inky Fun Stampers tag  swap with the theme “anything goes”.  The tag fits in this cute matching envelope that is small enough to fit into a size A2 envelope for mailing.  The hummingbird is by Stampendous.

Remember to do something creative for yourself and have a wonderful day.
